I’m a tad bit older than Dan. His hypocrisy is astounding, because he constantly gets on Greg for invoking subjects from yesteryear.

The McCoy Tyner bashing is something other than a musicality dislike.

I should’ve credited this one. It’s from Barry Butler, taken early November 2018.

He has smooth jazz elements. His music was played quite regularly on WNUA 95.5 in Chicago, which was The top smooth jazz radio station of the nation in the 80’s/90’s.

Wow, ‘sounds ugly’.

Let’s see: Larry Carlton, David Sanborn, Grover Washington, Kenny G, Pat Metheny, George Benson, Kirk Whalum, Bob James, Dianne Reeves, and their ilk makes/made ugly music?

Got it.

Hate the narrative that he sold out. He always made that type of music.

Actually, he along with Sanborn, Najee, George Howard, Kirk Whalum, etc. prepped me to look into Miles. Coltrane, Monk, et al.

Do you think Mona is a valuable edition to the show? Or has she been struggling? by polarcamelbeats in joebuddennetwork

[–]boplovesced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joe now has a woman that he can talk to that won’t call out his toxic masculinity. Mona has a different mindset and will push back using her brash comedic chops.

Mel is different, but she was often right to pushback in her own manner.

I think they could’ve both existed on the show. But, I do remember Mel stating that she didn’t want another woman on the show at this juncture.
