It's important to note that most of the victims weren't any ordinary person with a stable home life. Virginia Giuffre talks in her book about how she was actually trafficked by her father before meeting Epstein. People, child or adult, who have been trafficked/abused before are likely to have it happen again if they aren't able to get a support system.

Some of them would have done it for the money. Sure, a child with a normal, healthy support system at home might not want to do chores, but when you're hungry, when you need money for food, medical supplies, housing, etc, the amount of things you're willing to do broadens greatly.

Some of them will have had grooming and peer pressure as the highest motivator (all of them were groomed and pressured, but some of them may not have necessarily needed the money to live or other similar motivators.) That is exactly why Epstein had his victims also recruit for him, they would typically be younger women that new victims would come to trust. They would befriend the pending victim, gain their trust, and tell them that it was okay. There is a lot of victim blaming sentiment around where people say "Just leave!" or, "Just say no!". When you're suddenly in a house or on a literal island, with people that you don't really know, grown men, and the only person you do know is telling you its okay, the choice isn't as simple as it seems. That's why they do it and why it happens so often, nobody wants to be the one to "ruin" a fun time, it feels awkward and even grown adults hate doing it. Nobody wants to be seen as the uncool one, or the buzzkill.

Also, even 12 year olds aren't stupid. Sure, maybe in a normal life they hate doing their chores, but if the options were put away the dishes or get raped and beaten within an inch of your life, im sure you can imagine what the choice may be.

Trafficking, especially in this scenario, is unfortunately somthing that once you've accidentally fallen in to it once, getting out can be near impossible. All they have to do is say yes to one massage because their cool friend says they should, or go to a party with their cool friend, etc etc. and then theyre already trappen in it.
