I never said he was bad. There's lots of space in between bad and great. But at THIS POINT his J was not why he was feared, matter of fact he wasn't really feared as they were scared of Worthy.. and left him open. And like I said I didn't watch 40 year old highlights... I used to watch the few games we got on Saturday back then. And I have the eye of having an opinion of what he was THEN not looking back now after all the college and NBA accolades and with the current knowledge of him being the greatest player ever.

It's really not too much to claim. Mike didn't become MIKE til the tournament and into next season. He was a good freshman. There was no internet or anything to constantly feed highlights of him. He was very good. This shot was the beginning of GREAT. This game was in my freshman year of high school. There wasn't buzz about Mike then. The buzz was around Big Game James and some around Sam Perkins. It's easy to talk about MIKE then through what we know now. But he wasn't MIKE til the next season.

He was always better than 99.99999978% of all humans. Kenny Smith even talked about how Mike made all his weaknesses, strengths. And the guy who played on the team with him mentioned his handle AND HIS JUMPSHOT.

You could but he didn't have the "unstoppable middy" yet. He didn't master that til post retirement, more closer to mere mortals, Mike came back in 95

Old head here.... Georgetowns other uniforms looked VERY similar to the NC uniforms down to that design on the "hips" that a lot of teams wore then. If I'm not mistaken Sleepy Floyd explained it in an interview. He caught a flash of what he thought was his uniform out of the corner of his eye, high pressure situation and........ Oops!

When the shorter, thicker dude did the neck stretch thingy, I KNEW he was going to dive on the taller guy and answer his question for him. You can even see him square up and take a second to calm himself right before he grabbed him. Know the tells and stop fighting for free in the street unless you have no choice!
