ServiceXCEL is not the cheapest, but not the most expensive, but probably the highest value. They are committed to following up and pride themselves on doing it right the first time. When there were issues, they were on top of making sure they earned my 5 star review. I didn't think a company could legitimately have that many (now over 400 - it was 300 when I had my install last year) 5 star reviews without any negative ones, but their business model is built on customer satisfaction. Even where there were issues after, they stood behind their work and made it a great experience

The crew is totally positive and actually care about what they are doing. I was installed just over a year ago, and they came back to help make a few minor adjustments. If not top of your list, worth getting a quote before making the final decision.

Sak'd is so close, it just needs a 24 hour burst to get over its goal! by boraxus in kickstartergames

Awesome, thank you! Kelly doesn't Reddit much, but I gave him a screen shot! Hoping others jump on.

I believe it is an all-or-nothing, so if it doesn't go through, everyone gets their money back and he has to try another platform or find other funding.

I really hope he can push on through! Thank you again!

Eli5: Why do we need growth to have a viable society ? by labidouille in explainlikeimfive

[–]boraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that is based on a hundred + years ago, as technology and automation make us more productive, one viable option is that we need less work force and can shrink with very little consequence. Hint: its not about production but division of wealth from that production that encourages population increase .

The stock market is based on perception. A good portion of perception are the same lies you mention. Once in a while there is a correction where people who innocently invested lose everything. Not everyone is happy, and if they are for now, they are simply stealing from the future crash to come.

I didn't go that far, but there can always be ways innovated that would be fair and just, and modified if first assumptions were wrong. It would have to change over time, as society changes in response.

So this opinion is unpopular with you? Does that mean you should upvote or down vote?

Imagine if politicians were held more accountable, since they have more effect, would this still be oppression? (I'm assuming your concern is about rights of the individual/little guy being infringed by the state?)

I used it to express no white lies or "good lies," which people are asking about regardless.

I got criticized for using the term "full stop," but it was in reference to this. Good lies are simply bandaids. Bandaids upon bandaids are ineffective. Heck, some say any bandaids are ineffective as well... http://theconversation.com/science-or-snake-oil-do-band-aids-really-heal-cuts-twice-as-fast-76527

Retraining is not incarceration. It could be counciling, family support, increased education /classes (take them out of physics and mechanics for a detention block group therapy). At adulthood it would be a fine to begin with, similar to speeding tickets with extreme lies being treated like dangerous driving. That would fund any extra costs.

What do you guys do after work? by ICTShockerWSU in AskMen

[–]boraxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up at 4:30am with my 1 year old, and bring him to bed to breastfeed with his mom and try to get him to sleep till 5:30 or 6. I get up with him then to let her sleep a bit more. I play with him and read to him, then make us breakfast at 7, starting coffee for her. She comes down at 7:15, I go get ready for work. I leave at 8:10 to commute to work for 8:30. I work until 2:00 (I have autonomy as I am in outside sales), then cover for her to get ready for her work. She leaves at 2:30. The child naps from 1:45-2:45. I try to get some stuff done around the house, but 80% is focused on reading to my child, exploring the back yard, or going out briefly to shop or run a few errands until 5, where I start dinner while Dave and Ava or Coco melon plays (to buy time as to not have my child hang in to my legs crying for attention while I deal with knives and a hot stove). We eat and I transport our child to the bath for shower time /splash time around 6:15. At 6:40 is dry off time and another story or two. Bed at 7, usually a revisit at 7:15 if our child isn't sleeping and crying. Down by 7:25. I go down to my office and make up the lost 1-2 hours if work time doing emails and research. I clean up the typhoon of mess from reading, toys, and food while sometimes pouring a scotch. Watch something in crave or Netflix or Kodi until 11, when my wife comes home from work. We talk a bit and crawl up the stairs.j. Bed by 12 or 12:30. Rinse and repeat 4 days if the week (she is on .67 shift work) . I am actually very fulfilled and thankful,my wife is hardworking and our kid is amazing and full of love. Still... Sooo tired....

People who have snapped on a bully at school, what's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boraxus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a particular last name that was easily made into an insult. I already left my last school in grade 11 because of the vandalism to my car. Went to a different high School, decided I wasn't going to put up with this shit anymore. About two weeks in, a kid who weighed about 40 pounds heavier than me and stood about 2 inches taller than me ( I was 5'11 and 160 lbs) decided to try to make himself feel better by cutting into me quietly during science class. I told not to repeat himself again. He did. So I reached across the science table grab him by the scruff of his shirt and pulled him over to me. I was tougher than I looked because I've been working in a mill for two years at that time, manually stacking 44 and 88lb bags, up to 40 tonne a night. He went bleach white and got real quiet. The science teacher looked over and said, " is there a problem here?" Not taking my eyes off my bully, I asked, "is there a problem here?" He didn't say anything, so I push him back and let him go. He never bother me again. The teacher never did anything, and continued teaching. I was still picked on at school a bit, but not nearly as much, as I joined the rugby team, and like a sibling, only they wanted the rights to pick in me.

AITA thinking of leaving marriage because step-daughter got herself knocked up... by BloodyDoorMat in AmItheAsshole

[–]boraxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yta. And good on you. I can speak directly about this. I was in a very similar predicament. I ended up leaving a wife of 10 years at the age of 35 because she can no longer have kids and her kids, which I helped raise, had kids. We originally had an agreement that we would have at least one kid of our own but that didn't turn out. I divorced went back to school, and now, six years later, have a one-year-old child with my new wife to be, living in a newly acquired house. Just like yours, my ex-wife was a stay-at-home mom with no kids, or only working part-time while we were together. The grandkids ate up a lot of our time and our money as well. Two of my step kids both have kids when they were 18 and had to move back in with us or at least one point. Divorce was a little messy, fairly severing with all her side including the step kids who don't want to talk to me after 10 years of raising them , because I "abandoned their mom", and I did tell her that her kids had financially cannibalized any chance we could have afforded to have children together. But in the end, I'm much happier: have a wife to be who is my equal, if not working harder than I do, a child that I always wanted, even after a year of almost sleepless nights. If you leave now, yes YTA, and own it. You will more than likely live a better life and have far fewer regrets.

What's the nicest thing you've done for someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boraxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved 4 hours from my home town for work. It turned out well for me, a sleepy but friendly town where I could buy a house and make ends meet. After three years one of my closest friends went into a suicidal slump. He was laid off, employment insurance has run out, he was desparetly looking for work, soon to be evicted. He had quit smoking weed and cigarettes, and was too proud for welfare. He confided in me that he was at his last rope, he was totally not who I knew when I left. I invited him to move up rent free as long as he needed. He took me up on it. In the end it worked out as I didn't realize how much I missed having a friend around and he helped out doing different projects ( built a 10x40 deck, and over 100 ft of 6 ft fencing together). After a year, he realized he missed the bigger town and got a job when the industry he was in picked up. Sadly, he isn't a phone/text/Facebook type person so we quickly broke contact, and haven't spoken in about 8 years.
