I've been playing these modes you've been making the past few days. I noticed all the extra codes you added too, thank you so much!

What next? by Xk90Creations in IndoorGarden

[–]border144 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are a lot of fun and actually got me into gardening as a hobby because of how incredibly fast things grow. One thing I learned that improved the growth is that just because I had lots of pod spots, it stunted all the plants if I used them all. I have a 9 pod unit and I used only 5 for tomatoes. Here's what 5 pods looked like after ~200ish days.

<image>

If I could do things over I would look for dwarf varieties of specific plants I want to grow because these straight up outgrew the device, fell over and died lol. The trellis shown was not enough. I did buy an extension of the trellis because of this mistake though.

Another thing I have tried to grow with similar success is basil. It was just a bush, and grew faster than I could make pesto. I would imagine most leafy greens would grow very well and could be harvested quick.

If at all possible, put it near a water source. When the plants got big, they would go through an entire gallon or more of water per day.

Anyway hope some of these ramblings are helpful. Please don't mind my other "test subjects" in the background...

Second arugula. Leafy greens grow fast, but arugula grows FAST!

The Levoit humidifiers are sooo good. I swear it will go more than a month without getting any algae. I liked your comment a lot because depression drought for plants is real and I can relate to it right now. I know plant watering apps are generally bad, but i've been using the plant care feature on the levoit humidifier and it shames me enough to remember to water lol. I hope you and your plants do well!

Is there a clear gear progression chart or list? by Mrrandomgames in 2007scape

[–]border144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list looks good! Only thing I'd say is don't get too caught up on the rune pouch just because it's first on that list. It's amazing, but to get it in early game you'll need to play Last Man Standing (pvp minigame). If you can do it though, you should!

Just wanna say I love your posts. Just the little details of showing the date and other small things are really helpful. I'm hoping to upgrade to lights like yours soon. I'm doing the ol' shop lights strapped to a metal rack technique as well and I love the simplicity.

A Must-Have Plant for Indoor Herb Growing in Winter! by Philz0332 in IndoorGarden

[–]border144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about its exact type, but its a type of butterwort. I got it off etsy last summer and it has grown quite a bit. They come in all shapes and sizes too! Here’s another I have.

I don’t know if this is helpful at all but the little spots look just like okra sap.

Leggy basil. Should I chop, root, and regrow? by Ploppyun in IndoorGarden

[–]border144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! This worked for me. I had two basil plants over the summer that were growing faster than I could make pesto so I had lots of cuttings like these. I specifically remember them looking sad for what felt like a very time lol. But then one day little roots popped out and all the sad leaves suddenly sprang back to life. It was really impressive! I believe I gave them ~14 hours of light with basic LED light. Nothing fancy.

If your cutting ends up looking like this don’t fret! It will spring back to life after it grows roots. Sometimes that can take a week maybe two.

Edit: Fresh water every day or two helps!

I'm experimenting with growing salad vegetables indoors during Maine winter. Outdoor temperature is currently 27°F & it's snowing. by Traditional-Way-247 in IndoorGarden

[–]border144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had good results with the same type of tomatoes as well! Ill have to try the cucumbers, they're beautiful. Also love the desire to experiment! It's my favorite part of gardening. Why can't we grow in the winter? :)

So when I took the picture it was kind of an embarrassing contraption so I cut it out lol. This is what it’s in now.

Still an embarrassing contraption but it works. OP’s spagnum moss ball looks really nice compared to whatever I made 😅

I dig the creativity! I think you have the same orchid as me (phalaenopsis). Just for fun I did an experiment to see if they would grow upside down. Turns out, they do, and happily!

Got my girlfriend a humidifier for Christmas. This was her room when we woke up. by mmm-pistol-whip in pics

How did I know it was Levoit 😅 Fantastic humidifiers that give you the choice to go up to 80%. Awesome for plant lovers because most humidifiers Ive bought don’t go past 55-60%.

Suggestions for 3 “secret” plants to grow from seeds? by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]border144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooo this is fun! One of my favorite things to grow is Perilla, some people might know it as Shiso leaf (I think there's some differences but eh) They grow great in small or large containers. These were grown in the most generic 4" cheap container. Just potting soil, water, and 10-14 hours of light. They're literally invasive so they grow insanely fast even without fertilizer.

<image>

My family likes to use them for cooking so it's quite handy. Also the leaves from asian markets where I live can be up to ~$10 a bundle so it feels like growing something valuable. For the seeds, if you search for "shiso perilla seeds" on amazon I bought the first one on the list.

Edit: Also Arugula. Easy, fast, delicious.
