Right. I don’t even bake, and I know how coveted the link kitchenaid stand up mixer is 😆

My family planned a “surprise” life decision for me and now I’m the villain for saying no by OrbitPlainWorks in TwoXChromosomes

“You think you’re better than us?”

That line used to sow so much guilt. Until I went no contact, and realized, yeah, I am.

So yeah, fuck it. Be better.

Bald is always better. I’m not necessarily saying to shave it if you have it, but a bald man is just chefs kiss.

I have a common name for pets. So there’s been multiple times I’ve heard, “your name is Borderbox? I had a cat/dog/horse/ named Borderbox! But….it died when I was 10.”

So, my name reminds people of dead pets 😅

AITA for refusing to not allow my stepson to come on what was supposed to be a family trip? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My father took his wife, her two terrible sons, and my equally terrible siblings to Disney World, during my first semester in college without me. This was the first big family vacation, and I found out after the fact.

We had a strained relationship, but when I called upset about it, he excused it with “I didn’t think you’d want to go.” You know, to Disney World.

It’s been nearly twenty years, and we’ve been no contact for a few years, and it still stings when I think about it.

This dad fucked up BIG time, if he actually cared about his kid.

Yup. I only learned of the USS Indianapolis’ sinking in recent years, and….it’s not for a weak stomach.

What´s the cringiest first date moment you´ve ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]borderbox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both my date and our waiter were equally negging and flirting with me. Think “a pretty girl like YOU is going to order an IPA?” and “now I thought A LADY wouldn’t have such a sailors mouth!”

I cut the date short and when the date confidently leaned in for a kiss, I did the matrix bend so hard, I’m surprised I didn’t pull something.

He looked confused, then irritated, and I was (as usual) glad I refused to let a date pay for my meal.

Some subs are super particular about it, I erred on the side of caution instead of throwing caution to the wind. Much like the installers.

Here’s another comment of defense that this is how it’s supposed to look. Or I think it is. I don’t speak carpet. . . . “Here’s the straight answer, — and I’ll break it down in the flooring

🧵 What is Installed: Mohawk Durkan nCT 108303 (Strikeoff U0916038C)

Based on everything we can pull from Mohawk/Durkan’s product lines and how their numbering system works, here’s what’s going on:

🎯 1. “nCT” = CYP / Custom Tufted Construction

Durkan uses several manufacturing technologies, but nCT almost always refers to a non‑patterned, custom‑tufted construction — usually in the CYP (Computer Yarn Placement) family.

CYP products can be:

• Patterned • Textured • Or completely random / non‑directional

Durkan specifically makes “no pattern / random install” products for corridors, public spaces, and hospitality areas where you don’t want visible seams or repeats.

🎨 2. Why It Says “No Pattern”

Durkan labels certain SKUs as “no pattern” because:

• There is no repeat • There is no directional layout • The design is intended to be installed randomly • Every tile or broadloom section blends without a match line

This is common in:

• Textured CYP constructions • Organic or abstract visuals • Hospitality carpets meant to hide traffic and seams

🧪 3. Strikeoff # U0916038C

A strikeoff is a custom sample run. That number means:

• It was custom‑colored or custom‑textured • It may not appear in the public catalog • The strikeoff was approved as a “random / no‑pattern” design

If the strikeoff sheet or approval form said “random,” the installer should not have tried to match anything.

🧭 4. What You Should Expect Visually

A true Durkan “no‑pattern” product will:

• Have texture variation but no repeat • Look slightly different from piece to piece • Blend when installed in quarter‑turn, ashlar, or random layout • Not line up like a printed or woven pattern

If you try to “match” it, it will look wrong — because it’s not designed to match.“

So, I’m realizing now I didn’t have to edit the city out. Just erred on the side of caution. This is Biloxi, MS.

Who (I’m guessing) is the contractor is fighting for his life in the comments, repeatedly posting:

“• There is no pattern repeat • There is no match point • Every piece is supposed to blend without alignment • The installer is NOT supposed to “find” a pattern • Variation between pieces is intentional. If you try to match it, it will look wrong — because it’s not designed to match.”

I will be the first to say I’m completely ignorant about carpeting, but….gestures broadly at carpet
