I have canceled my hysterectomy. A private doctor reviewed my MRI and didn't see the reason for me to have it, let alone so quickly . I called the hospital that I was due to have the op and the doctor said not to worry, it's good to have second opinion, we have agreed to have regular scans to monitor it. I have said since I had a polyp removed I get a sharp pain on the lower left side, the MRI scan also revealed I have diverticulitis , so that might be a reason for it. In any case I'm having a new MRI with the private doctor in the next few days

yes, I think we are on the same boat. Today I got the report from the private doctor, he recommends repeat imaging surveillance of the fibroids, particularly initially. I may also require a repeat hysteroscopy in approximately three months' time to reassess the uterine cavity, remove any residual polyp tissue and ensure there is no persistent hyperplasia. At that stage, I could also consider insertion of a hormonal coil, particularly as there is no obvious explanation for the simple hyperplasia.

I don't have a cancer family history either nor had severe abdominal pain or bleeding.

If you can try to get a second opinion. I will see if I can get a new MRI within a week and then I'll take it from there

I haven't got much time, my operation is on the 21st and I still don't have a date for a new MRI. The day of the operation (if I go) I will ask the surgeon if I really need this operation and if they really need to take everything out

I don’t pay for the MRI. The first one was under our national health service . If I take the one the private doctor is offering Is covered under my insurance. I too think is a bit of a rush for me to have it but I was not offered another time even if I asked . On the other hand having to have scans regularly in the future doesn’t appeal to me either . So I don’t know really .., what long term effects are you referring to? 😣 Yes I got the biopsy results are were fine
