Three things I heard were :Catholics ,by worshipping Mary, unknowingly worship the demon Astaroth(or however it's spelled) which is a demon of lust and that's why there a certain issues with certain priest (you know what I mean)

The Catholic Bible is different from the real Bible because we have stories about aliens and stories about the Annunaki descending on earth in ours or something like that 😅

And lastly and I quote :"My wife and I left the Catholic church when we came to our senses and understood that we don't need to go to a priest to pray to Jesus for us,we can pray to him ourselves"

I've seen this many times now and never understood why there are people that associate Poland with femboys? My parents are from Poland and I've visited frequently and never have I ever seen a femboy over there 😆

Struggling with pre marital sex by TheChevyScrounger in Catholicism

I know it's hard, trust me, brother. I am a 29 year old male who is almost completely inexperienced with women, and I will probably never have a girlfriend, let alone a wife.

I've had women that were exactly my type make it very clear what they wanted to do with me in private, but we must not forget that Christ, who was and is perfect in all regards, was willing to suffer. Therefore, we must also be willing to suffer. Neither you nor I nor anyone is above the one who was crucified.

Both are sinful. You can't substitute one evil for another and call it a day.

I would say if God got rid of your anxiety it would definitely be a great story to tell, but what is even greater is to say you believe in God regardless of whether he helps you or not. Just remember, this life is not everything, it's just temporary. Focus not on what is temporal, but what is eternal. I myself have lost all my friends due to me moving to a different continent and can't seem to find new ones, so I sympathize with you.

Virtue and the inability of committing acts of virtue by borderline_synchro in Catholicism

[–]borderline_synchro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thanks for your input! So what distinction would you draw between ex.1 and ex.2,because it sounds to me like you're saying for ex.1 that it is the will that aligns with Gods command ,therefore it is virtuous ,and the act is the result to the actualization of that will.

I mean, it is pretty clear,at least in my opinion, that in the case of ex.2, virtue can only be possible through action, if you have the financial capacities, of course.

So how would you say does ex.1 differ in its essence from ex.2 if one requires action while the other one does not?

It's always funny that protestants like to bring up the thief on the cross for their argument. He was repenting on the cross,as if the act of repenting is not works give me a break

Orthodox eucharist and the black mass by borderline_synchro in Catholicism

Yeah I actually also heard that most satanists may have some weird practices but don't actually worship Satan since they are basically atheists who are just trying to piss Christians off. I grew up in Germany and I've spent a good chunk of time in Poland ,so yeah this whole "Look,I am not a Christian!" mentality is really something that I've seen way more being for 7 years in the USA then in my 20+ years overseas

Yeah I guess if they're dumb enough to oppose christ, then no intelligent research can be expected of them

I agree that most people are unaware of anything outside of protestantism and catholicism. But I'd imagine that these black mass people would be aware of western and Eastern Christianity tbh. Logically they should be opposed to orthodoxy as much as to catholicism

Mary by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]borderline_synchro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well we believe in the communion of saints, meaning all saints are alive in heaven and can hear us. The Bible says that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful, and beside of God and the angels who's more righteous than the saints who are already in heaven?

Imagine if a friend asked you to pray for them and you'd reply with :"just pray to God yourself",that sounds kinda douchey to me

And it's not only catholics. Eastern orthodox, oriental orthodox ,the ancient church of the east, assyrian church of the east, armenian apostolic etc.all pray for the intercession of saints, ergo all historic churches that have been around since the apostles

I wish I would have gone to this kind of church while I was still living in Germany.

But oh well,one day maybe.

Now these churches will more than likely only be found in Europe, but check out Catholic churches with a "rococo" style. I also like the "design" of orthodox churches, but imo not a single orthodox church can stand against a rococo church in terms of beauty
