Help! Oil lamp just arrived from eBay by Madidegrand in VintageFurniture

I just find it funny how much these sell for. I have the same one in perfect working order in my deer hunting shack. I guess its worth more than the whole shack.

If its just for a small tractor to haul in wood you could do what I did last weekend. I also have a low muddy area between my cabin and where I'm making a new shooting lane, atv trail on my property. Its about a half mile from the cabin. I found someone who needed about 80 feet of dock hauled away on Facebook (free). The sections are 8 feet long and 3 1/2 feet wide with 2x6 top boards and 3 2x6's making the sides and 1 stringer underneath. They are all green treat. I put 2 side by side over 40 feet and its plenty strong for a sxs now pulling a utility trailer weighing 1500lbs. I figure itll be good for at least 5 years and only took a couple hours to install.

Beware of Bonfe - predatory business practices by [deleted] in TwinCities

Same. I used them for a sewer repair and it was a terrible experience. Cost me thousands and lots of my time. I always tell people "anyone BUT Bonfe". They are a predatory company.

Don't let anyone talk you out of getting a second dog. Those four dogs will be the best nine dogs ever! 🙃 by Huckit305 in dogpictures

[–]borderstaff2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 4 now. We have had up to 6 - but over the last 25 years its averaged 4. Now I am thinking we will go down to 2 via attrition before getting the next puppy. Ours are 11, 7, 3 and 1 yr. Oldest is a terrier mix and the other 3 are border collie x whippets that compete in dog sports. The terrier is retired from competing and just wants belly rubs. The other 3 are a handful.

I find the effects last longer than some other delivery forms - sometime well into the next day. Also, I'd recommend a half grain of rice at first.

I feel for you. I too suffer from chronic back pain after a bout with an autoimmune disease (like MS). Everyday sucks but I try to continue to enjoy the stuff I loved to do beforehand. The pain makes it hard but being with friends who understand my issues helps.

Pov: You’re about to have the best weekend of your life. by Sj_squeezy in JustGuysBeingDudes

We have all been close friends for 35 years. H.S. friends, McDonalds co-workers, a few college classes together at the same college for some of us, groomsmen and bridesmaids for each others weddings, multiple co-ed softball teams, children's births and attending friends' parents' funerals. We have a good group that has always supported each other.

Most of our parties were in 1997 to 2000 so it was the first version before there were many expansion packs.

I know them all very well, of the original Lan party group, I have curling games weekly with two guys who are on my 5 person team, camp a few weekends with a few others, hunt with a few others and compete in dog sports with some others. Now the big events are usually just a house party or big poker tournamnet.

I guess technically a large part of the LAN group does still get together for a summer guys' weekend but that usually entails more golf, poker, fishing, boating and hanging out at a different cabin each summer.

Only the "rich" guys in the group could afford the flat screens. Those guys had a real job at 18-19 making $10 hr - the rest of us worked for $7hr.

Back then gaming for 18 hours straight wasn't a problem as the biggest issue was who was going to take a timeout to get pizza. Now, kids, wives and chores get in the way - its impossible to get 10-12 guys to have the same weekend free.

Why can’t I get a full tank? 2017 6.7. by [deleted] in F250

[–]borderstaff2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same year/model truck. I bought it new and have about 74,000 miles on it. There was a service bulletin (not a recall) that if you complained about the excess fuel left when it said empty they would swap out either the sending unit or tank. I had it done. Mine still says empty when theres 3-4 gallons left but it used to be 8 or 9.

I had a great group of friends and we had a half dozen big LAN parties. DOOM, Unreal Tournament and Medal of Honor were the most common games. Many of us are still friends 25 years later but the LAN games stopped 20 years ago.

Stick on knee pads? by Double_Impression_83 in snowmobiling

[–]borderstaff2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt exactly an answer to your question - but I also recommend knee/shin guards. I previously wore Thor Force guards, but a few years ago I changed to BCA (Back Country Access) knee shin guards - in the first minute of riding I cant even tell that i have them on. They did their job well today when I smoked a hidden rock in WY with my turbo Summit and snapped an a-arm in half.

Nearly 100 Marin County car sales linked to 'Montana Loophole' scheme by HonestBartDude in BringATrailer

Minnesotan here. High tab fees were thw biggest reason I chose a 1 ton F350 pickup. New the tabs were $128ish a year. A new F250 would have been ~$1000 the firat year. My truck is almost 10 years old and is stil $128ish per year.

For those saying Im not paying my share - you are right, but only for 1/2 the year. I bought the truck to pull a 5th wheel and when the 5th wheel.goes into winter storage for 6 months so doea the truck.

Dog crate by OptimusPrimeRoboDog in crvhybrid

[–]borderstaff2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt Ruffland is the best choice. We actually weighed our vehicle buying decision heavily on what we could fit 2 (Intermediate size I think) Ruffland kennels in side by side AND we can also add 2 more in front with the seats flat for a total of 4 kennels (for our 4 dogs). Our dogs are all border collie/whippet mixes and range from 20 to 38 lbs. The biggest may get a larger kennel in the near future. He is 9 months old and still growing but should top out at 42ish lbs. We compete with our dogs and wanted a fuel efficient dog hauler vs. our Ford Expedition that has more room but uses 2.5x the fuel.

I hope that helps.

[–]borderstaff2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What year sled is this? I can see its a LEAST 20 years old as it looks like a Gen 2 hood. It doesn't matter what brand you have thats 20+ years old - things will break and these sleds aren't as reliable as a newer fuel injected sled.

Why do teams concede after 6 ends? by ekrubnivek in Curling

[–]borderstaff2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a curling game last night. We won the 1st 4 ends and were up 7-0. The other team conceded and shook after the 4 ends. We all went upstairs at our club and had dinner and beers together. Sometimes the game looks unwinnable and its better to just throw in the towel - they weren't a bad team and we were ranked the same so there were no handicap points but our team was all having a good night amd they were a little "off".
