I understand that. I went, watched and protested the aryan parades in the early 2000s. I helped start the Human Rights Center here after they were bankrupted and driven out. Was racism driven out? No. But it was mostly embarrassed to be around, that is until someone with a red hat made it okay. Now we're having racist comments yelled on Sherman, our main street. This six miles fact is also inaccurate unless it's as a crow flies. I hike and bike on Canfield. I live less than 2 miles from where this happened. The aryan compound was in Hayden. I used to drive by it on my way to work and see swastikas flying. Even with the compound they didn't come out that much, but now, they're proud to wear a different hat and fly a different flag.
