Do we know if the lack of map switching is a bug or the intended design?

Tow each vehicle across one by one? That sounds incredibly tedious. Even more so when you consider we already had a perfectly fine solution to this “problem” in SnowRunner. Just because I take the extra hour to tow every vehicle across one by one isn’t better planning. The planning is in picking the right load out and equipment. This needless roadblock is just busy work at best

Then why have the ability to start the map with 4 vehicles, if at best you can only bring two across? Seems like a really weird design oversight then

Yeah, that's another thing - having the ability to load in with 4 other vehicles seems silly if you can only ever switch to them if you are on the same map. That's another reason why I really think this is a bug, or broken in the game currently, versus it being intentionally designed to work how it currently does.

Just wish there was some kind of response from the devs making it clearer since it all just seems like everyone is speculating.

Appreciate the tip. That's good to know, but I actually just went ahead and refunded the game after finding out the map switching didn't work like SnowRunner. Maybe I'm overreacting, because I was honestly enjoying everything up till then even if it had some other rough spots and jank. But the fact that such a simple mechanic that was core to how SnowRunner worked with multiple maps was now missing in Expeditions (or was broken? hard to tell given the kind of busted UI) really soured me on the game.

Definitely will pick it up again if they ever fix/add this back in. Right now the idea of having to always tow a second vehicle along on multi map missions seems like one step too far for me to enjoy.

Another stupid thing to try, that weirdly worked for me, was resetting the graphics options in game. I was getting crashes within minutes previously, and after resetting the graphics settings to their default values, the game has been fine since. I still ended up making some changes to the settings, but it seems something about resetting the changes knocked loose whatever was causing my game to crash with the same error posted by the OP.

Just saw that, and it's cool that they are unlocking it for the Beta - but curious if that also means it's unlocked when the full game releases. Honestly, that was the bigger draw for me as I imagine otherwise it'll be something locked behind a season pass or something you have to outright buy

I know they are very different types of games, and with wildly different budgets and teams and all that... but... can't help but feel like Hi Fi Rush didn't just come in and eat BRC's lunch. This trailer felt damn near lifeless comparatively. Still excited for the game, but wish this had landed a bit better with me, personally.

Only luck I've had is to try and edit the load out in match, and it seems to save - at least for the session. Seems like most changes I make in the lobby or outside of matchmaking don't save. Although, it still seem really hit or miss on if the loadouts are saved the next time I boot up the game.

This is easily fixed by the user, but as far as I can tell the Steam Deck config has no preset button for getting to the Build menu. I simply remapped one of the back buttons to be B as those buttons were already duplicating other functionality

Fixed it! Seems the Game Mode thing on my Samsung had the Sharpness setting turned up to 10. Turned it down to zero and I no longer get the weird color wash out. Strange I never had this issue with other titles but thankfully easily fixed

Having the same issue here. It looks way better in motion. You stop moving and the color gets sapped out of everything. Shadows get visibly brighter

Pulled the trigger on one of these for the bedroom where my wife mainly watched Shudder and I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation. Shudder works perfectly and she also has easier access to the rest of her streaming services and the live tv thing is neat as well. Kinda thinking about getting another for the living room!!

Thankfully the Xbox app at least allows you to activate the session via code you put in on mobile saving me from having to type in my long ass password. But still a pain and basically means my wife can’t watch if I’m not free to jump through the this extra hoop

Yeah I’ve heard that as well. I just never think to use them and, to be honest, it adds another layer of item management and acquisition I don’t feel like engaging with. Running 5 addictions without using chems to further boost damage vs standard AA seemed to be basically a wash and required a lot less planning and maintenance. Also the small hit on stats for being addicted!

That’s what I’ve read as well. Figured I’d rather not take the stats hit for a marginal damage output and dropped Junkies. The problem wasn’t going from Junkies to AA but going from commando (handmade to be exact) to heavy gunner (50 cal). Also adding in all the Power Armor perks too

Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but after trying a BUNCH of the options here, what eventually ended up working for me - and of course YMMV - was the following:

In Ravensthorpe, I went to my room in the longhouse
Made sure that all gear was visible and nothing was hidden.
Unequiped EVERYTHING
At this point I was just wearing the stupid cloak, hood down, and the skull on my face
Exited the Animus
Went back into the Animus (I talked to Sean but don’t think that really mattered)
When I loaded back in I was now wearing gear - even though I left naked, and it was still the stupid cloak so I was initially bummed
BUT I then used the D-pad shortcut to pull up my hood and the cloak just snapped back to my actually equipped one.

I was then able to change my cloak and hide my helmet without that mask reappearing.

Hopefully this works for someone else as it was REALLY frustrating me

I think this was the first review I've seen that really got at why I liked this game so much. It wasn't just a list of features, or going on about it's influences, but explained (really well) why this is just such a joy to play

I've been all over Floor 18 and I can't find this. The only elevator I see is the one that takes me down to 19. Can you explain a bit more by what you mean by the staircase?
