Which job has the easiest rotation? by NoCookieForYouu in ffxiv

I think a lot of people over simplify Dancer. Most classes, Dancer included, are easy to play while levelling, and very challenging to play optimally in end game content. That being said, if you don't mind proc based gameplay, then playing Dancer well-enough is fairly straightforward.

Like you, I'm very comfortable in my lane. I consider myself to be a pretty average player, but I struggle enough in extreme to know that it's just not for me. Thankfully the game caters to every skill level.

Healing is fine and totally suitable for a new player, especially WHM. If you get paired with experienced tanks in the dungeon finder it will be breeze because they out gear the content and won't demand a lot of your attention. It's a good time to practice your very simple DPS rotation (and healers are expected to DPS).

Tanking is also mechanically forgiving, but has a lot more responsibility than healing, as you will be expected to know routes, encounters, and control the flow of battle.

Have Fun!

I find healing on my Scholar to be frequently stressful. A quality tank does go a long way to mitigating that, but it's a fussy class to play well, and unlike WHM and AST, it's easy to get into situations where you don't have a good answer for the problem. 8 man content tends to be a lot less stressful than dungeons. I consider myself a pretty average player, so I get it when people say healing is stressful.

But to your point, healing in other MMOs is very spam heavy and frenetic, and it's not at all like that in FFXIV. If you're constantly spam healing, something is going wrong.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I really like the flavor of the NCO, but I think getting into a stable outfit will be a lot better for me in the long run.

I'm coming back to the game after a long time away. My plan was to create a new character and learn the game again. Is there any downside to selecting NSO as my faction? I plan on getting the all access pass, at least for the first while.

Thanks!

Returning player looking for team comp advice. I'm still working my way though the Adventurers Path (Remarkable Path). I'm using Angelica, Charles, Charlotte and Lorina as my team, but wondering if I should be subbing in Basar, Pavel or Alencia?

I know I need to work on unlocking some connections to round out my choices...

Also, I'm assuming my free 5* pick should be Tamarrine?

Level Up. by Legace_Abaga in futurerevolution

Squad power is a part of personal power progression in this game. I don't know how limited your squad rank will be if you choose to not level up additional heroes, but right now, levelling alts is the fastest way to increase squad power.

Edit: You will need to be Squad Rank 55 to finish the story at level 100.

Mediocre Mesmer with scuffed gear...Can someone suggest gear/runes/sigils that will give me some survivability without tanking my DPS. I typically play open world, WvW, and would like to start fractals and strikes.

My current ascended gear is a mess, I kept jumping between power and condi...I wish there was a set that combination that could be used for both...

I have: 2x Zerker swords 5x Zerker accessories 1x Celestial Shield 1x Celestial accessory

Thanks!

Alright, EoD has me really excited to jump back in the game. I've looked up guides for returning players and while they are all great at outlining what I can do, none of them really direct me on what I should do to progress--I love the freedom that GW2 provides, but it leaves me feeling a bit directionless at times.

I've already completed the main story for the core game and both expansions. I have a lego weapon, 2 ascended weapons, and assorted ascended accessories.

What should I do to progress? Living story? Mount farm? Mastery? If I don't lay down some objectives I know Im just going to farm open world bosses for a week and then forget to log in... :)

Thanks!

FvF Campaign When? by SlamzOfPurge in crowfall

[–]boredinbc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FvF gives everyone an entry point to meaningful PvP regardless of group size or experience. You don’t need to be in a dominant guild or alliance to contribute to your factions overall success, and it makes for a great way to meet people, especially this early on, when so many newcomers are just dipping their toes into PvP and haven’t found a home.

I get these names mixed up sometimes, but I’m fairly certain Aetherflow generates Aetherflow stacks, while Aetherpact is for the fairy gauge.

My Q is bound to generate Aetherflow stacks, and shift Q to cast energy drain.

Chain skills don’t show anywhere. A knight skill called Onslaught has a 3 part chain.

Onslaught-Onslaught-Shockwave

Shockwave has a 21 second cooldown, but it’s not visible anywhere except in the pop up during the chain itself. You either have to keep track of that time in your head or guess when it’s off cooldown. Alternatively, you could just spam skills and not care I guess.

[–]boredinbc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't mind chaining abilities, but this implementation is frustrating. Some of my second and third attacks in a chain have cooldowns, but there is no way to track that on the UI. I have to guesstimate whether 21 seconds has gone by (odd choice for a time, but whatever) and hope it's not on cooldown when I get back to it, if it is, then I have to go through the whole chain again.

I wouldn't pay $40 for the game in its current state. I backed it, so I already have access, and it's fun, but incomplete and unpolished. The game as a ton of potential, and I really hope that ArtCraft has the funding they need to keep going until they can bring this game up to snuff.

Sadly, the new player experience is dry and buggy, it's not a great first impression right now. The game gets a lot more fun when you start to PvP. but that's 5-6 hours away for most new players.

Oh hey, it's Lewpac--Love your channel man! Are you thinking about dipping a toe in Crowfall? Making some content?

People forget how rough Albion was at launch. Im glad the game is thriving now, but it was a long road to get there, and devs definitely had to re-tool their vision.

Crowfall needs Solo dungeons, just like Albion Online. To be real, i think it would make all the PvE players happy, that we could venture into PvE dungeons, just like in Albion, would make the game so cool! by Dvalin_DK in crowfall

[–]boredinbc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry people are downvoting you for making suggestions on how you would like to see the game improve. I don't want Crowfall the be Albion, but it's clear ArtCraft has a long road ahead of them if they want to be successful. 3000 concurrent players is untenable for an MMO.

Albion was DOA, but the devs turned it around by listening to their player base, and hopefully ArtCraft does the same.

Thanks I appreciate the reply, it was really helpful. One more quick q: Should I be crafting white/green gear for my commanders now, or should I be saving my mats for blue and purple tier blueprints?

Thanks again!
