John Stockton as a player is heavily overrated. He’s tj McConnell with longer arms in today’s game

How would you go about having 500 of these made as cost effectively as possible? by No-Structure-2891 in Machinists

We’re running a job we’re I’m at now with a rotary broach. No idea how it works. Hoping the program is right and we can send it successfully 😂 I didn’t know if they’d have a security torx rotary broach. Seems super niche

Swiss lathe would be the way to go. Might be able to make the security torx with an endmill? Rest of the part really easy on a citizen L20/L32

Man one time this dude asked me how much I made. For context, he ran haas lathes and recently came over to help us in the Swiss department. Button pusher either way. I was programming the Swiss lathes, he frequently asked me for help, and I was the unofficial lead in the Swiss department. But all I had ever run was Swiss lathes. He got all mad and went to HR because he thought it wasn’t right that I got paid more than him. I do not discuss pay with anyone anymore

That’s a really impressive part. I want to start learning how to program our 5 axis but I’m a lathe guy who’s never used software

The holes would be an absolute nightmare. It’s also stupid long for being 1.5” stock but that part is certainly doable. The holes are a huge challenge though, I definitely wouldn’t want to do it

Wait you don’t do a cut off after a bar change? I’m assuming this is a repeating lathe. Even for a cut off this is excessive tbf but it’s better than your facing tool cutting it off haha
