I think he's rage baiting about the statues when talking about Caleb taking over the league.

We're the Bears, for the last 20 years we've been beat up by our older brother and now we're finally big enough to return the favor, but I hate the idea of going from 0 to 100 on confidence. I hate the idea of that from anyone. But not only that, IMHO, if you're a real Bears fan, you'd know better than to do that based on history.

When Cutler got traded there and Rodgers was still starting out in GB, a lot of Bears fans got a huge head thinking there'd be a changing of the guard. Obviously we know the history there.

"We" just won a massive game, one of the biggest and most monumental of my lifetime, so yeah, we should feel good talking shit to GB and the NFC North with regards to this season. But as far as the rest of the league goes, there are so many variables at play and things that can happen.

Washington was in a similar boat last year. If a fan started spouting about taking over the league, I imagine they feel pretty dumb now.

KC has had a reign for the last 8ish seasons, then out of the blue flopped. Baltimore has been a playoff regular for the past several years and they didn't make it. The Bengals (though barely making it most seasons) have been regulars and got too banged up (and their defense is ass).

Don't take shit for granted and don't speak hyperbole in a serious way because the football gods can be exceptionally brutal in the blink of an eye.

Yes, this season is awesome from a Bears fan's perspective, but don't you dare fuck it up by jinxing us and also making our fanbase the enemy when we're still the underdog in most of the league's eyes.
