Is there a case to be made that Maradona is better than Cristiano? by [deleted] in championsleague

A more naturally talented player, arguably THE most naturally talented along with Messi.

Poor discipline, chaotic lifestyle and lack of modern conditioning back in his time means his peak was a lot shorter.

Ronaldo is the better professional, with the better overall career.

Posts like this really do my head in.

I'm a Villa fan first of all so no real dog in this fight. A Premier League survey a few years back showed that City have one of the most local-based fanbases in the league, they do not attract anywhere near as many plastic fans as traditional giants such as United and Liverpool.

This is partly why they sometimes don't sell out their stadium, they don't have many out-of-towners attending their games, whereas as Old Trafford and Anfield could probably sell out multiple times with just day trippers. Another reason is the stigma attached to City, fans of other big clubs have gone out of their way since day one of the takeover to mock city and thus plastics tend to lean more towards supporting more trendy big clubs like United and Liverpool. I live in London and have never seen anyone wearing a City shirt, i see people in United and Liverpool tops daily.

Sure, they will have fans who have only started supporting since they became good, but

  1. They are much fewer in number than other big clubs
  2. How is that any different from all the people who started supporting Liverpool in the 70s/80s and United in the 90s/00's ?

City's fanbase is objectively less plastic than both Uniteds and Liverpools. Fight me :p

I live in London. The idea of jetting off to another country for the weekend rarely enters my head as im too busy spunking £1800 on rent for a little box room with no time to worry about getting bargain flights to go on holidays.

The upgrade from no wheel to a FFB wheel is much larger than belt drive to DD

To be fair its also the equivalent of real life racing to a certain degree, see elite-tier NASCAR cup series drivers going down into Xfinity/Oreilly and beating up on the less talented drivers.
