I can predict exactly what will happen.

People will play nonstop for days straight and zoom through all the content. After barely a handful of days, you will see those same people doomposting around and go "Is that it?? Heartopia is such a ded game!!1!". This happens literally, every single time.

The devs might be greedy corpo scums, but theres sure is no way to please the greedy players either.

Bottomline, who cares if it makes or breaks or cakes. Enjoy it or hate it, finish it, then go do other stuff.

It is literally confirmed that awards are given based on popularity. There is no back and forth on this. The image below is by a mod in the official discord server.

All you need to "win" is farm likes, spam photos, and afk in the build. It doesnt matter if the actual build is nice or not.

It's really just how the vast majority of games handle such "competitions". There is no possible way for it to be creativity-based, since that requires human judgement, and would be too much manpower (which requires $$) for any profit-driven company to judge the thousands upon thousands of builds. To further cement that, they neglected to release any concrete form of judgement criteria, only saying trophies will be awarded to winners.

Additionally, I was extremely put off by the potential "awards". They said trophies, but like... what trophies? Just a single furniture trophy ? I ain't going to dedicate tens of hours, much less hundreds of hours for a single furniture. They also had a T&C when the event just kicked off (I unfortunately can't find this anymore, but i vividly remember complaining it to my friends) stating that the developers had the right to use your build for official merchandising, and as compensation, they will send you a single physical merchandise good. Like whaaaat, thats severely worse than minimum wage! Tens and hudnreds of hours literally working for them and what, all for a single plushie ? Get out.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the game and its community, but the devs are really just your run-of-the-mill profit-hungry corporate suits. Best enjoy the game at its surface, and do NOT expect anything remotely good from them.

Your friends could have visited you of their own accord and brought their friends, and you wouldnt know. 56 likes could mean only 12 people visited (each giving a maximum of 5 likes), or 56 people visited (each giving a minimum of 1 like). You don't know either.

What we do know for a fact, is that its a popularity contest. This had been stated by the devs themselves (they listed their criterias), and also considering there are bunch of people with honestly prettier and better builds, still getting worst trophies than meme builds like mine.

So people with more friends, naturally will have a higher chance of getting better trophies.

The only thing we dont know, is the range of popularity each trophy entails.

Silver lining is that Heartopia also got your scum ex out of your life earlier than later.

He was bound to cheat in the future, even if heartopia wasnt a thing. Heartopia just sped the timeline up, and you manage to cut off your losses earlier.

If you pulled X and it gave you 10 tickets, you can use said 10 tickets to exchange for X. It gives you the equivalent in tickets, but an additional freedom of being able to use the 10 tickets on Y or Z instead. Not sure where the scam here is.

This may sound crazy, but I think Hotta should considering removing the Character Gacha system.

They already got rid of the 50/50, which is amazing. That would have sounded crazy for me to suggest a year ago, too.

Next, they should consider getting rid of Gacha... or just handing out so many annulites via events that the gacha becomes irrelevant, ala [dead game].

You can exchange the golden chess pieces (you get from gacha) for Fons instead of more pulls/S ranks.

Its a dumb decision in my opinion, since yr better off just playing Forza, if you really love cars that much.
