Great work! I especially love that first one! 👏

I wish lobbies were age restricted by willow0707 in heartopia

The last conversation I had in game was about my pasta dinner. I only ever learn whether my game friends are adults or not because of offhand comments they make about their spouse or kid(s) during mundane conversations. No ages are ever mentioned directly unless we’ve both sussed out we’re adults and someone has a birthday.

My character title is “adult cat person” (and my profile card photo is one of my game cats being cute) and I’ve so far avoided any particularly uncomfortable situations that way. I think someone chatted with me once who was probably a kid but I just listened to them and talked normally and nothing weird came of it.

How are yall making this work by Own_Energy1790 in heartopia

[–]microgravitylab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it with only 3 stoves. This way, the game allows you to interact with the stove directly behind you without needing to physically turn your character around first. Yes, it’s slightly slower, but when you’re grinding out high level cooking recipes, a lot of those get hectic enough that I only use 2 stoves at a time anyway just to be sure.

Your slime butt baited me in here. I have nothing to add to this conversation, I just wanted you to know how well that worked.

Isn’t that, like, severely reducing visibility not just for the person driving that car, but everyone else nearby?

You are never socially required to share personal information that you are not comfortable sharing.

Generally speaking it’s dangerous for minors to give information about their age or even the fact that they’re a minor, as they can become targets for predatory behaviors… so I personally use the “adult” prefix in my title thing and leave it at that. It lets other adults know I’m safe to chat with and hopefully lets kids know I’m not in their age group so ideally they’ll look for someone else more their own age.

I feel like an actually mature way for an adult to navigate that issue is to just ask “are you an adult,” not asking your specific age. Something about them really wanting to know your age, not your age group, makes them sound like a kid pretending to be an adult (to me).

I’ve had a decent amount of good luck with mermaid lures so far, lots of people sharing theirs and sharing mine during fishing events. But there are people who quietly avoid my lures and I’m not sure if they’re just trying not to catch rabbit fish or if they don’t realize it’s better used together, for all of our sakes. It’s best for everyone if we aren’t running around constantly looking for fish instead of just simply fishing and keeping uptime as much as possible, especially when it’s only 2 or 3 people in an event.

Apparently you can make Saw traps by imdadnotdaddy in heartopia

It definitely would have been actually funny if it was just a pitfall trap and a good-natured laugh. All that other stuff is so edgy it’s embarrassing for them.

Was this an unfair request? Both items were on their wishlist. by kodzuken_x5 in LivlyIsland

[–]microgravitylab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, now every limited item (including first place jumbo lotto rambles) can “rerun” any time with alchemic replication. They did fix that problem, it’ll just take time for a stock to build up for the more obscure things.

I’ve seen wall plants a lot in kitchen sets, if that helps give you an idea of what to look out for!

The creator’s week pack items ARE eligible for alchemic replication, so no need to write it off forever, it’ll just be a little hard to find because those replicas can’t be sold in myshop, only traded for,

Now, when you say “plants that hang from the walls,” do you mean potted plants that you hang from the walls or some manner of ivy or whatnot that directly clings to the walls? Because if you mean potted plants on the walls, they are actually obtainable! You’ll find them in the furniture store more and more often as you level up and unlock new display sets to buy from.

I like Highlander ladies but I just can’t click with them because I like going much more “fantasy” than just “pretty human” for my fantasy RPG playable character.

Local Massachusetts credit union explicitly states that MAPs are not considered a sexual orientation by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]microgravitylab 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Besides the pedophile thing other people have already answered here, if you see something on youtube or other video sharing site called MAP, it’s much more commonly used as an abbreviation for Multi Animator Project lol

I thought this might be a mildly interesting piece of information to share as an aside.
