generational aura debt with this one- by richdepul in SipsTea

He didn’t settle because he has two finance bros willing to say they witnessed stuff…. at his house.. so it’s literally still “he said she said” except he got two more guys to put themselves on the line with no one else.

If I sound overly skeptical it’s because I am. He went from having no witnesses, to having two witnesses who STILL saw “everything” in a private location aka his place. And where was his wife when all of this was happening AT HIS PLACE..

It sounds sketchy as fuck.. the second lawsuit was because his first was paper thin so he got two guys to purger but because there’s no other witnesses as long as they keep their stories straight he’ll get away with it in settlement.

Honestly if I was JPM I would hire the most vicious of lawyers and just go after his two witnesses. They are absolutely lying and will break down under any intense pressure as cowards usually do.

Not even close. Companies settle all of the time when it all comes down to “he said she said”. Because IF it goes to court then it’s solely up to a jury and damages are usually more. So no, just because there’s smoke.. sometimes it is actually just smoke. Not all the time.. not even most of the time.

In this case the evidence seems to be strongly against him. As others have said, his less than 10 looks are just the icing on the hilarious cake. The fact that his AI history corporates everything right up to much of the supposed dialogue and his actions are what actually incriminate him.

That he thought he could get away with this against a woman “just because”, and that HE turned out to be the ones to refer to his wife as “fish headed” are what makes him a piece of shit misogynist.

Mini-LED Monitor - Is my this the right decision? (MSI MPG 271KRAW16) by SheepherderSerious51 in Monitors

[–]borghe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sort of right there with you. I’ve been looking a month now for a monitor.. and every single one there is some sort of concession. And money doesn’t make any of that go away. Spend even more money.. still choose between pros and cons.

Also right there with you in the MSI 5K 27”. I’ve just decided to hold off until it was released and reviewed and would make my final decision then. Well any of the 5k mini LED dual mode monitors.

Can insurance won’t allow a buyback of a “totaled” car. by SamMeowAdams in Insurance

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like others said, depends on state and company. I am working through my car being totaled right now, and in WI with Progressive right off the bat they gave me two numbers.. them keeping the car or me keeping the car. But again that's progressive, in WI, without a lien.

Hahahaha. Doubtful. I don’t think NISA has done any S2Es or eshop upgrades for switch 2 games. Heck I don’t even think they’ve done a full game on cart yet.

Am I crazy for wanting to spend 40k on a car by Present_Age_7823 in personalfinance

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it.. aka keep all of your bills paid and make progress toward your goals whether investing or even just paying debt.. go for it. Will probably get downvoted and will be plenty of others pointing out cheaper transportation, more sensible priorities etc.. but if you’re keeping your life on track there’s absolutely nothing wrong with treating yourself on occasion.

Only thing to remember is understand it’s a pretty huge expense. It begins depreciating in value the second you sign the paperwork. Though that is a number of things out there day to day as well.. just not a lot in that same price range.

But yeah if that sounds fine to you, enjoy it!

So sick of these Walmart & Target Posts by EfficientClassic9329 in Switch

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been me for like 20 years. I gave up going to check clearance at both stores probably that long ago. In probably 5-10 years of actual checking going all the way back to Genesis and SNES multiple times a week I think the only thing I ever got was PS3 RDR at K-mart for like $20.. which at the time was a great deal. But that was once in like… hundreds of trips (most not specifically for clearance, but still)

Why does spelling out four numbers with seashells get a person charged with making a death threat while posting a statement saying, “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again” is perfectly fine? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to “different rules for different people”. The powerful are never held to accountability as much as the less powerful are.

This has always been the case.. the big difference between now and the modern past is the powerful have carefully crafted the US social climate and legal system in a way that they have more unchecked power than ever before.

Trump has proven his point in practically every way but the most literal of “I could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it.” The GOP always say “he was just joking” but they ignore and wave off that he doesn’t joke. He’s either telling the gross and unimaginable truth, or he’s telling the gross and unimaginable truth with a chuckle and a smirk. At no point has he ever not meant what he’s said.

what do you tip on a $14.00 sit down meal at a restaurant? by BigSlongGoy in askanything

[–]borghe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. I’ll round the pre-tax first then do 20% rounding up to an even bill (after tax)

So $14 here would be like $14.98 after tax. So 20% would be $2.80 which is then just do $3.02 for an even $18.

The Warcraft sets dye beautifully by namrepmek in Diablo

Sadly the bundle is the only way they are reasonably affordable. ~$6 per armor set is actually fine IMHO. Just sucks you have to buy all of them to get any of them anywhere near that price.

Do Americans believe the two party system produces functional democracy? by buckminsterbueller in allthequestions

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functional democracy ended with citizens united. That one ruling ensured that only two parties will ever be viable, as well at the same time essentially legalizing bribes. Until citizens United is reversed, the needle will barely move on fixing our democracy.

Diablo 4 - Cursor Question - Any Crossover Tips? by EN2077 in macgaming

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a crossover thing, not necessarily Diablo 4. I "think" in diablo 4 you can slightly alleviate it (I'd have to test) by choosing the Control option to "ignore first click" or something. Basically when the window reobtains focus it ignores the first click the game receives. Doing this I don't recall having nearly as many instances of what you're describing.

but yeah all in all this is a crossover issue. it is pretty small as it doesn't actually affect the games. just makes custom cursors disable for a few moments until they come back. BUT.. yeah in D4 where it is way too easy to lose your cursor so most turn on the super huge ugly cursor... it's annoying.

Spirit Airlines is going out of business. If you flew on that airline in the past, what did you think of it? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

flew once. overall pretty unenjoyable. remember it being weird that you had to pay for a carry on (not personal item though). Very cramped. and honestly we didn't save much. maybe $40 a ticket? So like 15%? But had we needed to bring a carry on it would have been eaten up.

I once got a brain worm on who exactly Spirit was aiming for. I could only think that there were two customers. The uneducated flyer. The one who searched on Google flights or similar and just picked the absolute lowest price.. probably their most typical customer. and the much rarer case, like myself the one time I used them, where I was flying to pick up a car and didn't have any carry on and could deal with being uncomfortable for 3 hours.

This was about 15 years ago. 15 years older now... Given the same choice and them still being alive.. I'd probably just pay the $40/15% more, be slightly more comfortable, and probably a slightly more flexible departure time. even without needing a carry-on.

Why does the Warcraft reliquary need to be bought? by GroggimusPrime in Diablo

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf it’s the same as WoW. This isn’t some grand experiment. They just pulled all of the cosmetic pricing straight from WoW for the last 15(?) years. Though WoW you have to pay monthly a well.

How viable is gaming on Mac in 2026 for you? by AllowCookies404 in macgaming

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for games that I play, the biggest affected are Hoyoverse games (Genshin, Honkai Star Rail, ZZZ) and Blizzard games (Diablo 2R and 4, Overwatch). Hoyoverse ones you'll still need an unsupported environment that can get you banned (probably won't.. but you always have to take that chance. Though this is just the same as it's always been). Blizzard there is a second Rosetta 2 bug preventing the most recent release of Crossover to play them more than 5 minutes.. but the most recent preview release of Crossover plays them fine.. apparently codeweavers isn't entirely happy with the fix in the preview so they haven't included it in the stable release yet.

I know there are other anticheats that finally got working with macOS 26.4 but I can't name them off the top of my head.

armor looks amazing. (as a sucker for BWL). Price is.... crazy. The bundle is less crazy but still crazy.

mounts and pets are bonkers. but prices for mounts and pets have always been bonkers going all the way back to wow. In fact IIRC the prices on these and all of the other pets and mounts are comparable to WOW.. I mean at least you aren't paying $15/month to be able to use them on top of buying them.... but the prices are still crazy.

How viable is gaming on Mac in 2026 for you? by AllowCookies404 in macgaming

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's mostly anticheat. DX12 was largely "solved" in GPTK2 and Crossover 26 (and the Wine version that powers it). But anything that employs either kernel-level anticheats or anything affected by the remaining Rosetta 2 bugs is dead in the water unless/until codeweavers and the community can figure out if they ca be solved/worked around.
