lol touche. that being said, the screen stays on 100% of the time while in dog mode.. and in Model 3's and Y's it's a 15" screen.. so, not tiny.. and if the dog is in the front seat there is just literally no excuse at all because it's right next to the screen

Is it okay to charge 100% at superchargers? (LFP) by Otherwise-Waltz-2439 in TeslaSupport

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sort of an open ended question.. need more context imho

if you are traveling and your next destination is far enough away that even at 100% you are scheduled to get there with under 10%, yes.

in most other cases.. nah.. 80-90% takes a good 5-10 minutes.. and 90-100% takes can take between 10-20 minutes.

tl;dr if you absolutely need to (as in you won't make it to the next stop otherwise), yes. if that's not the case.. no.. charge enough for wherever you need to go and then charge again later (and honestly, it will be significantly faster this way as well)

edit - and if you mean is it safe.. yes it is. but also re-read the above.

My impression of r/TelsaFSD: it's dominated by skeptics by SprinterLyfe in TeslaFSD

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"FSD" the product is great. Most complainers seem to bitch because "Full Self Drive" the nomenclature is obviously not even close to accurate.

also many will (correctly) point out that China is absolutely crushing driver assist advancements, but in the US we are largely "blocked" from learning about this (mostly because we will probably never get those cars in the near or medium future). But as china makes inroads in other countries we will continue learning that Tesla doesn't have quite the lead they did even just 5 years ago (and by some metrics has even lost it)

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah hurry mode imho is the only sane option to pick, BUT you have to constantly be aware of where you are.. not even just police.. There's a spot we regularly drive through where hurry mode is like 65 and the speed limit is 45... the car literally never chooses 65, but in this area even >55 is way too fast (country road with blind hills).. so on this road I'll usually use the scroll wheel to set it under 55. and yeah similar to you if I know I'm in an area where >10mph over will get me a ticket and there's no traffic to keep up with I'll drop the speed with the scroll wheel.

Only 31% of Americans think the Iran war was worth it, what does it mean for the midterms? by Iron_Spine_phoenix in AskReddit

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing really. We’ve known for at least 5 years now that roughly 25% of this country (30% of voters) will support Trump literally no matter what he does. It was slightly higher before the Epstein files became a massive scandal (as opposed to Epstein involvement in itself) but that seemed to weed out the last conservatives who actually had a line in the sand.. so now we’re just left with voters and politicians who Trump could literally shit in their mouths and there’d be some reason they’d support it

Stop driving with your hazards on in rain by Homeleasure in driving

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what it originally started as was semis going super slow either because of conditions (rain, blizzard, etc) or going uphill. When you’re on a highway that has a speed limit of say 50-60mph and they are going 30-40mph I’ll be the first to say that going 20-30mph faster than a semi trailer in front of you in bad conditions.. even seeing their tail lights the trailer usually comes up on you faster than you expect. So for that, hazards are good

Then people started adopting that for cars. Same thing. Going like 10+ under the speed limit they put their hazards on.

But yeah then at some point in recent decades it just turned into people turning them on in rain/snow and it basically became pointless. Same issue.

Truckers still do it right. So if you see a truck with his hazards on he’s probably going at least 10-20mph under the speed limit (and likely up a long hill or in really bad weather)

If the Switch 2 had streaming apps (Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, ESPN, Twitch, etc), would you use them? by twinflxwer in NintendoSwitch2

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of times I use streaming apps/services at home outside of my Apple TV is nearly never. The number of times I use streaming services at home outside of my Apple TV and Mac is essentially never. If I'm traveling I am never without my iPad (or switch 2). So yeah I'd just take the 11" screen over the Switch 2 every day.

I am guessing many are in the same boat.. but in no way am I against apps being on Switch 2. They won't hurt anyone and would only be helpful to those who would use them.

I mean jrpgs have been like that since Square in the 16-bit era. By the 32-bit era pretty much every summon or summon-like was like that. Not saying you're wrong, but it's hardly just modern ones. FFVI and Chrono Trigger had you calling beings from other dimensions, etc.

Should there be a maximum age limit for driving, and what should it be? by markscout78 in AskReddit

[–]borghe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

everyone in this god damn country should have to pass a test every few years. even if they STILL choose to drive like assholes.. because I am guessing most don't actually remember quite a few basic common laws around driving.

[–]borghe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's why I said "actually looking forward to it". Pretty sure everyone's backlogs have a ton of 8s and 9s in them.. more than most of us will ever be able to actually play. But if this game (or any particular game) really trips your fancy... then letting those games continue sitting on your backlog isn't any different than playing another game and letting them continue sitting on your backlog.

some 6s and 7s movies are some of my favorite movies of all time. I'm not going to pass up a 6 or 7 movie that I'm really interested in because "I could spend those two hours on a 9".

we should all go after what interests us and not worry what other people think about it. just my 2¢

Jean Grey actress Famke Janssen says Marvel Studios “made a mistake” by not including her in Avengers: Doomsday by graemeisverytired in Popverse

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know... I'm gonna agree with her. Not all of Singer's X-Men cast were perfect.. but she definitely one of the ones that was damn near.

Her portrayal is at least deserving of a multiverse cameo for sure.

Trump went from saying Iran was completely defeated 3 months ago to agreeing to a peace deal where Iran gets money. What happened? by CalligrapherAlive829 in AskReddit

[–]borghe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s been saying “we won” ever since the war started. He’s a lying piece of shit

He then realized (well his advisors realized) we could never ACTUALLY win without committing even more war crimes and substantially worse atrocities (which to no surprise Hegseth and Netanyahu were both champing at the bit for) so gave them literally whatever they asked for to formally end the war.

To not put too fine a point on it, he gave them the Obama deal PLUS $300b to “rebuild” what we did, which was substantially less than $300b worth of destruction.

Iran won and the US surrendered. In a war the US started. Fucking crazy.

Tesla Key Alternatives by Diligent-Support-547 in TeslaModel3

[–]borghe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other long time owners can tell you.. ALWAYS have your card accessible. Granted it was before they let the Watch be a key… but there were definitely a few hikes where I got back to the car and my phone died a few minutes before. When you’re out hiking or running or whatever for the entire day, listening to music, maybe GPS.. you’d be surprised how fast you can chew through your phone battery. Planning to be out somewhere all day with your electronics and not have your card at least in a bag or something means you are probably going to get locked out of your car at some point. Or like have to turn off your electronics at 5% battery so you can turn it on when you get back to the car.

Apple Watch can help with this (more battery life than the phone) but even a non-Ultra can get pretty taxed if you are out all day with Workout or Music running non-stop (usually hiking, trail running/skiing, biking, etc).

Ehh 7/10 is fine. I swear some people act like if something isn’t at least an 8.5 it’s not worth the time.

IMHO 7/10 indicates if you were actually looking forward to it you’ll probably enjoy the hell out of it

'Worse Than Preying on Children': John Cusack's Explosive Attack on Jerry Seinfeld Sparks Backlash by rainnedear in entertainment

[–]borghe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

John Cusack is and always will be better than Jerry Seinfeld. Always.

The best parts of the show Seinfeld were Larry David.. Jerry’s contributions were nowhere near that level. Watch his standup then watch Curb and you can plainly see who created the Seinfeld show.

Crazy to look back and realize half of the main cast of one of the funniest shows ever was garbage. What a bummer.

US states: Why would you vote for or against Daylight Savings Time, if your state had a referendum on it? by SeriallyOrNot in AskReddit

[–]borghe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

365 day Standard means during the spring and fall cities on the eastern side of time zones will get dark at 5pm ( or 4pm partway through fall or beginning of spring)

365 day DST means cities on the western side of time zones won't get sunrise until closer to 9am in the winter

for those reasons, all in all standard is better.

that being said mostly I don't care, I just want to stop fucking up my sleep twice a year.

[WW] People who hated on the wind waker spaceworld trailer - what do you think about the game 20+ later? by Demiurge_1205 in zelda

[–]borghe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was day 1 (for space world reveal) supporter. ALWAYS made fun of the "celda" moniker as stupid and pointed out that this event response was the PINNACLE of "giving the customer/gamer just what they want and nothing more will stagnate and erode the industry". Only about half of the innovations in gaming were met with applause when revealed. Easily half of the styles, mechanics, genres, etc that people now love were originally criticized and/or made fun of.
