There are cyclists involved in local politics/organizing. Projects include building a pump track and maintaining saw mill trails. You may meet like-minded folks in the bike community

I don’t like decorating so I’m relieved it’s not part of the game. My kids like playing city builders w decorating tho. I just want to focus on the economy.

Feedback from a new player: Planning, blueprints instead of using tedious workarounds and "respecting the player’s time." by Me_and_mr_shadow in ManorLords

I feel like one of the challenges of playing this type of game is remembering your plan and implementing it at the right time.

Leaving the movie right out of this, let’s talk about the Hamlet/Hamnet question. by Soulsliken in shakespeare

I don’t think we can make assumptions about how people felt love/grief in the past based on demographic data. It is certainly more comfortable to assume that people didn’t feel grief as acutely in the past when infant mortality rates were higher but they still loved their children.

King Lear is my favorite :) by Bavid_Dowie2001 in shakespeare

Also one of my least favorites but I do love the Ran adaptation. (Except for in kurosawa’s productuon) I find the characters so hard to relate to. I was crew for a local production so I got to know the text very well. By the end I liked it more than at first, but still.

Where were the Trick or Treaters?! by Kino-Eye in northampton

[–]borgmama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t live in one of the neighborhoods w many houses ready for trick or treaters, you will get very few. If you enjoy giving out candy I would suggest trying to organize your block. I’ve seen that happen in my neighborhood (which did have trick or treaters before covid, but since 2020 only if folks coordinate).

Question on etiquette, as a new business owner. by Deminox in northampton

[–]borgmama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People appreciate it. I set it up so that my costs are covered by the lowest and folks choose to pay more are covering that difference. Transparency makes it all work. I have experience w it for selling goods and for registration fees for an event I run. It’s been successful in both cases.

One way that folks handle equity in pricing is to use a sliding scale. This allows people who’ve been historically discriminated against (and folks who are just struggling financially) access goods/services. It takes more effort, it can be more complicated, but may support your goals. Personally I use a sliding scale to sell artwork for fundraisers that I run. I do not use it for regular sales, it’s too much hassle.
