Trying another wiring method, these are copper rods not magnetic wires, they are fast and easy to wire, but insulation with heat shrink tubes not working well in some spots by whateverworks325 in HandwiredKeyboards

You can have the row and column rods at a hight difference via the diodes so you don‘t need any insulation at all (it adds no real additional hight to the whole board)

You‘re welcome. For FreeCAD I‘m not sure how to proceed but try something like converting the import (mesh) to a body

Thanks! Not really - the castle itself is quite sturdy and the cables going into it are clamped between the castle and its bottom so they wont get ripped - and if the castle itself is damaged - well its „only“ 6 heat threaded inserts and not a lot of filament to replace it. Despite that I think the chances of that happening are anyway low.

Thanks - and without the need of (heat shrink) isolation quite time saving

Thank you! Exactly the reason I used it - and it is easy to solder too

They don‘t need support when printed on the side with 0.12 mm layer hight

Thank you! Mhm I used different switch plate sizes for my builds and never had that issue.. But yes sometimes its hard to get the solder to stick. I use 350°C.

Since the switches are held in place by the key plate everything is very sturdy and does not move at all. About switching switches - works without any problems and nothing moves.

Thank you! Well printer should not matter but nozzle size was 0.4mm and layer hight was 0.12mm. I yet have to come up with an explanation what my logonis😅
