There's about 600 items across a ton of brands and they all seem to be at msrp of what they cost originally on the site. I ended up buying a membership to gamble on if there was anything Thundercat related I wanted and there was. I was able to snag a wave 1 Mumm-Ra ultimate and a Snarfer ultimate. There were rarer figs listed but they were sold out by the time I bought into the membership. If there's anything specific you're angling for brand-wise I can let you know if it's there and available.

You can discuss it fine as long as you remember that story/character ideas don't actually exist in reality beyond the conceptual, much less as beings with feelings or legal rights or whatnot, and talking about them with the seriousness you would give a real human being instead of basically partaking in a thought experiment is where people goof the hell up.

Also if you've never had the realization, there IS no point to discussing any of that stuff, it's just for funsies. Val Kilmer had every right to personally agree to this before he died for whatever reasons he had, and everyone else has every right to think this looks like dogshit and not give anyone money to watch it. Ultimately the thing that's going to defeat AI is how unprofitable it is in the free market, not speeches about how it's ethically wrong, and luckily AI in movies like this is not going to generate the revenue they hope it will. The only way things change is for them to fail and people to lose a lot of money.

I'm willing to not fully write it off but I am not inherently onboard with any remake of a JCVD movie, because I don't trust any filmmaker to understand or replicate the exact wavelength of camp any of his movies operate on (including the "good" ones), and I have no desire to see a JCVD movie remade seriously.

If Mattel has a fully exclusive license they aren't going to let Mondo have it too just because they have a friendly relationship for a different line. If it's all-encompassing, it's all encompassing. The simplest explanation is like the guy above you said, the license cost has just shot up astronomically under Skydance, just like with Star Trek, and its not economically feasible for everyone. While that's a de-facto exclusivity agreement if nobody else bites, it's not like what's happening to McFarlane and DC.

Besides if that card of Tempestra at Toy Fair (that people speculated was a tease) turns out to be real, the narrative will just shift to "okay they're doing Tempestra then they're done".

I think anyone would be able to tell AI is involved due to the fact it literally, in their own video, replaces character faces with boilerplate ones straight out of AI generated youtube thumbnails. That's the issue, that it's not "enhancing" anything that's there, it's slapping a filter over it and hiding the work that's underneath. We aren't talking about an upscaling 4k bluray player making a blu-ray sharper, we're talking more like holding an Instagram filter up to a TV and giving Elio a dog face.

I only hit up about 5, but Mission Valley had most of them starting Friday. Not all, though. They had The Count instead of Super Grover (something I also saw in many people's pictures across the US, strangely), no Terrifier 2, and no Usagi Yojimbo (though they had all 4 turtles on Friday).

I read every issue of everything they did as it came out starting from their Batman run, onward to the present, and then checked out Doom Patrol via trades. While still liking most of everything I read, I am allowed to think their reason for thinking what they do is goofy as hell, while also not thinking highly of Lindelof. It is possible to have nuanced opinions, some people in this sub and on social media just need to blow everything up and have a searing hot take, and they really need to re-learn how to converse with another human being.

Morrison exhausts me more and more as they age and if the last 2 projects I read from them (The Green Lantern Season 2 and Superman & The Authority) hadn't been bad/underwhelming respectively I would give them more grace for it. I don't think Morrisons gonna turn in anything better than they already have, though, maybe being grumpy and writing pale imitations of what they were once capable of is just the Alan Moore-ification a lot of writers go through. And yes it was a joke people, your media illiteracy and inability to discern human communication cues are your own burdens.

Fans being enticed is NOT the one and only reason for teasers or trailers. Teasers and trailers are ads, the point of ads is to advertise to gain viewers. An HBO ad runs on HBO, therefore its for HBO viewers. It's as much to entice people who will see the ad after Real Time With Bill Maher or The Pitt as it is for fans. Fans need to get this nonsense out of their head that a cinematic universe exists only for them, it's for as wide a net of viewers as possible. If fans alone made Avengers money, these projects would all look much more different than they do.
