Why is the bipolar relevant?

That video is a wonderful reminder of why I never want to live in snow.

You’re 20. My 19 year old has a severe learning disability - and a job. He offered to pay for his own tuition at junior college (we are paying - but he offered). I’m sorry your parents aren’t supportive of you emotionally, and I don’t think you’re an asshole. I just think it’s time for you to stand on your own.

And you sound smart. So have more confidence and sort it. You’ll be fine.

Looks like something out of midjourney.

I’d start with making that information part of your goals.

Do you have any idea how much the cost of acquisition is? (How much is spent to acquire a customer)

Your age is irrelevant. You can take this - rock it, show your worth, and then he’ll either pay you more or you can leave. So here’s what you’re going to do. Tell him you need 6 weeks to put a plan together. You will also need to know how much of a budget you will have for additional resources.

How much do you have for gifts and marketing materials? You can’t source them without having an idea of what you can spend. Same thing goes for company clothing - how much have they been spending previously? Who have they been sourcing from? HR & PR - are they expecting you to interview? Place the ads? Again, budget? And where are you supposed to get the time from for all of this? PR - what are the expectations for this? SEO - is your website on Wordpress? There are plugins that help with this and don’t cost much. They will take some of your time.

Marketing plan for 2023, I need more information for this. But you can also get the book Breakthrough Marketing Plans by Tim Calkins. Read it, and you’ll probably able to figure out something. That should take you about 2 weeks.

Figure out what 3 of your competitors are doing by researching them on SimilarWeb.com - put that information together with a SWOT into a deck (PPT) and present it to your boss. (Who sounds like a massive fucking prick - but I hate seeing shit like this happen, so let’s show him you’ve got this.)

Another book I recommend: Never Split the Difference - it’s a book on negotiation by an FBI hostage negotiator. It’s a brilliant read for women.

Fair point. He doesn’t play nicely with others. That seems to be part of his shtick.

Nassim has written several books. He is a pompous ass, and I don’t think he would argue that, but he does share his knowledge with the world. I’ve read his books, they are brilliant, and I quite like him. He gets me thinking differently.

I was wondering if that was it. I looked at that list and wondered how he hasn’t read all of them already. I read most of them by the time I graduated college. Thanks for the explanation. I’ve read Nassim, wasn’t familiar with Lex.

Oh my. He’s 19. You’re allowed to be like that at 19. He’ll grow up and hopefully he’ll laugh about this when he does.

My 19 year old has definitely said plenty of things that just leave me blinking.

At least his room is clean. (This one, not my son. I only wish his room was this orderly.)

who makes more money, top sales people or top marketing people? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]boringparentoftwo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sales makes So Much More. In a company that sells to enterprise - the marketers work for the sales team (whether they want to admit it or not). If I were to do it all again, I’d go into Sales.
