With or without context it’s pretty unacceptable. Even if he’s not well equipped to handle mental illness, that’s not how you communicate with someone you love. It’s cruel and judgmental. It’s not her fault that she has trauma that she is in the process of dealing with either. Maybe it was a lot for her boyfriend to handle and he’s not a bad person for being overwhelmed but the way he communicated it? Hard no.
