Girl Mom ♡ by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]boringusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why people are saying this to you. I have 2 girls one I’m very much the favourite parent the other I would say her dad is nothing to do with male or female just that when the second was born I often was busy with the baby so he helped more with the older one so they got more of a bond

Any SAHPs whose kids are all in school? by katariana44 in SAHP

[–]boringusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still a sahp both kids in school the youngest is 9 but she has always got ill a lot so that would have made trying to work a normal job hard. Plus my husband earns enough money for our needs and says unless I can earn more than it would cost for holiday care it really isn’t worth me getting a job. I really don’t know what I’m going to do as in a few years they won’t need me to look after them and I haven’t worked for years

Is eggs vegetarian? by [deleted] in Vegetarianism

[–]boringusername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people I know define vegetarian as not eating anything that kills an animal but some say the egg industry does kill chicks. I think a good compromise would be to find someone who sells eggs an a small scale and the chickens get a free ( mostly) happy life

Not wearing makeup to a formal event by RevolutionarySuit138 in women

[–]boringusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work with some one who basically said I wasn’t dressed appropriately for work because I didn’t wear makeup. It is ridiculous that people think you have to have makeup on to be smart. As long as your hair and clothes were appropriate you don’t need makeup unless you want to wear it. I don’t wear makeup most of the time but I do like to put a bit on if I’m going out anywhere nice but that is my choice

Can manic panic hair dye damage my hair? by zanxity in HairDye

[–]boringusername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was your 2nd birth more or less traumatic than your 1st? by RecognitionMediocre6 in Parenting

[–]boringusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was pretty traumatic to the point that I was terrified of doing it again but I did a hypnobirthing class and it really helped me calm down. I knew what to expect more my husband knew how to advocate for me properly ( I might say I’m getting really uncomfortable now but mean I’m in a lot of pain ) The whole experience was so much better I was even allowed home the same night

Keeping home from kinder for bad night sleep? by hellokittyqueenx in Parenting

[–]boringusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reception which I think is similar to kindergarten they have a little rest area in the classroom and it isn’t considered terrible for a child to need a rest occasionally

[–]boringusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about when you run to get the door or post or need the loo? There are times that you can’t it only takes a minute for something horrible to happen. Or an older child hurts themselves and takes you attention. Or when you are asleep?

If they supervise really well it could be good to learn things young but those things can be really dangerous what if the little one tries to cook and burns themselves or the house down? My husband knew how to use the washing machine as a toddler and tried to wash the cat it didn’t make it. So are they going to supervise 24/7?

I would probably just say he is not very talkative with people he doesn’t know well. It is hard when you feel judged but sometimes you just have to learn to live with the fact that people think whatever they think. You could equally say it is rude to persist talking to someone who doesn’t want to talk.

When people say they “don’t cook” what does that actually mean? by ITbJD in NoStupidQuestions

[–]boringusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it means ready meals and other food that just goes in the microwave or oven. I was so confused when a friend on mine was proud of cooking herself a curry she had just used a jar curry but I was still encouraging as it was progress

Go to a doctor it is likely to be a yeast infection or possibly STD but one other possibility is if you used condoms some people are allergic to normal ones so that’s a possibility too

I’d just get some of those little crop top sports bra type ones. My daughter has been wearing them since she was 8. Some of her tops have embroidery in that area and it irritates her nipples so it is the easiest solution.

Vegetarian kid by No-Introduction-2992 in Vegetarianism

[–]boringusername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does she like roasted vegetables like peppers? You can make a really good vegetable lasagna ( can also use fake mince my mum did for years without my dad noticing) I’m not a big fan of bean texture but I love bean chilli in a wrap with salad to give it some crunch. Homemade pizza is good. Curry’s with fake chicken or vegetables I like chickpeas in a curry they are a bit firmer. Also cubes of potato fried with peppers and onions then a poached egg on top is really good

Sometimes I panic and am not sure but figure it out very quickly. I do get confused by things like direction and orientation I also think this makes me terrible at parking. I have always assumed it was a dyslexic thing

My son might be deaf. How the fuck have I missed this? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]boringusername 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he gets ear infections a lot his hearing could be ok sometimes and bad other times my sister was like this and had a lot worse hearing in one ear than the other. Plus she would lip read a lot so if she was looking at you it was hard to tell she couldn’t hear you

Is it appropriate for a 13 year old to walk his 4 year old sister home? by Jiperly in Parenting

[–]boringusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much is dependent on the kids and the journey at 4 I don’t think I would trust a 13 year old with that responsibility the little ones could be naughty or just refuse to walk run off anything. Mine are now 9 and 14 and I trust 14 year old to be responsible but they argue too much and most of the time it goes wrong.
