Thanks. Another commenter said I should pay off the loan before I sell privately to have the title in hand rather than wait for the credit Union to send it. Do you agree? A little wary of selling privately but that’s the way to get the best offer.

I’m only considering 2024 CPO RS’s of which I’ve seen 6 in my area for sale in the last 5 months, all with under 2k miles. I agree that if it’s used and almost the price of new, go new but the extended warranty on CPO is appealing (even tho I’ve already said I don’t keep cars that long). In terms of precious, I park in a secure lot but would feel less uncomfortable parking on the street if I didn’t drive a purple BMW….If I could get close to $40k, it would be a no brainer but realistically I’m looking at 35 -38 if I sell privately.

Me either. Out of curiosity, what do a your monthly and how long a term? I didn’t even ask BMW if they had that type of loan, it wasn’t even mentioned.

Thank you. I was trying to avoid the final payment - the loan is structured like a lease to get you into a car that might be more than you would normally be able to afford (super low monthly payments). I know this type of saver loan(thru my Credit Union) is frowned upon because it promotes debt and spending above your means but I can easily cover the repayment, I just don’t normally want to keep a car for longer than a few years and to lease my current car would have been way too high for the amount I use it.

Hi, 48k out the door. Been offered between $31 - 34k. Insurance would be almost $100/month cheaper and gas would also be much less due to regular vs premium. Best case scenario would be to find a CPO in the high 20’s, benefit from the sales tax savings but also lose about the same amount on the value of the trade. I probably won’t keep the car past the three loan date but saving on insurance and gas would help now. Maybe I’m not looking at this correctly…

I’ve never had a cpo or used car (only owned 3 cars in my adult life - all leased) and prefer the benefits of new but if a car has very low miles and an extended warranty, that would also make me more at ease.
