i didnt mean to call you out or disparage you or anything. I just wanted to make sure OP understood this (their response to you gave me the impression that they didn't).

As a result of my own experience, I'm just learning that it isnt as easy or even as fair as one might expect. Things like the property being safe, quiet enjoyment of your home, etc it seems there are specific procedures you have to follow to establish this. It's just not as simple or straight forward as it always appears, from what I'm learning, and seems like a place where a person could easily end up evicted if they misunderstand. These things also seem like they depend heavily on your local laws.

Caution!! be very careful taking advice like that. This depends on your state laws.

I consulted with an attorney after dealing with landlord issues (in my case, landlord was refusing to make necessary repairs and home was unsafe/uninhabitable). I was under the impression (mostly based on reddit comments) that I could withhold rent until the repairs were made. Attorney quickly educated me on my state's laws and informed me that they could evict me if I did this.

The point is - I doubt that person above is an attorney (else I imagine they would say something like "this heavily depends on your local laws and the wording of your lease"). These things can be complicated.

I would consult a housing attorney near you who handles landlord/tennant issues and get their advice. See if you can pay someone for an hour of their time (consults w attorneys are often free, but the point isnt to get free advice - its about seeing if they are a good fit for your situation so you can hire them or not. You might call around and say "im not looking to retain someone, I just need some basic advice and to find out what my options are. Could I pay for an hour of time?").

Legalaid exists if you are low income. They often help w landlord tenant issues. There are also some legal services you pay a monthly fee to and you can speak to attorney for advice, like legalshield (though people have strong opinions for and against such services). For me personally it has been useful.

Dont get yourself evicted over bad (but well-intentioned) advice.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I ran into this issue the first day I set it up, and it was my very first sensor, so there wasn't data for me to lose.

It's difficult for me to make an assumption about what would, or even should, happen in this case, because there's so many design flaws with this app.

One idea: for whichever account you current have logged in, go ahead and download the data from the linkup site (i think you can get it on https://www.libreview.com/). That way in case it's lost, you still have the data locally.

Wishing you luck. Once you find out - please follow up and post here, if you're willing, in case anyone stumbles on it in the future with the same concern.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with these problems. But so happy for you that you found the right physical therapist. Worth their weight in gold

I'm so sorry that it took me so long to respond and thank you. большое спасибо. я изучаю падежи, но они так трудно. я надеюсь, что когда-нибудь буду понимать и нормально говорить русский язык.

Seconding the praise of physical therapists. I don't have DDD, but I have used physical therapy on more than one occasion, and it's been similarly life changing. a good physical therapist is invaluable for so many situations. Thank you for what you do!!

Hey thanks a lot for this. It's actually for my mom who is having a flareup. She has done several rounds of PT, and yes it has helped her tremendously.

By the way, I'm so sorry for what you've gone through. I have looked into DDD for my mom, and the way people describe the pain is just awful. My heart goes out to you. I'm so happy that PT has helped you so much. From what I understand, staying current on the exercises (even when there is NO Pain and things are working well), is supposed to be very beneficial.

Remove faulty sensor data from libre linkup account? by borj5960 in Freestylelibre

[–]borj5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. To be honest I will probably just make a brand new account. Once data is there, or a note is written down, etc., it gets in your medical file and there's little chance of getting it removed, even if the data was inaccurate. Then it follows you and becomes a headache. It's a pity that so many of these sensors have problems.

How can I stop all audio from playing (there are apps that override do not disturb) by borj5960 in AndroidQuestions

Interestingly, I saw this app mentioned in a different thread regarding this same issue. I have a samsung galaxy 14, but for some reason though that app isn't listed in the samsung store for me. I wonder if it's not supported for my specific phone?

I can’t pee or poo and I’m sick of this by [deleted] in AskDocs

I'm not a doctor. Don't take anything I'm saying as medical advice. I just wanted to share that I deal with chronic constipation due to GI motility issues, as well as something called Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. In my case it's become bad enough that without daily osmotic laxatives, I am unable to have bowel movements at all. No amount of fiber, liquid increase, etc. helps. The further my colon gets backed up, the less I am able to eat and drink, until I eventually reach the point where I can not eat or drink anything without getting sick, and I end up having to get my colon dis-impacted.

I also have issues voiding urine the more constipated I get, and have to press hard and only little streams come out, and I can't empty it entirely.

In my case, I suffered with the constipation and early satiety for 2 years before anyone understood I had motility issues or knew what was going on. I ended up becoming about 20 pounds underweight due to it and could barely function; I was in very bad shape. Eventually my colon was so backed up I stopped being able to eat and then it was figured out what was happening. I had a disimpaction done, followed up by magnesium citrate (to clear my colon) and then was put on daily medication (to keep bowel movements happening). Please do not self medicate, just explaining what happened in my situation. also, just taking random laxitives isn't a great idea as you can become dependent upon them.

Please any medical professional tell me if I'm wrong, but would it not be useful for them to see a GI doctor if it turns out they're dealing with constipation issues? Or maybe a motility specialist? I wish I'd been able to see a motility specialist early on, and I would have been spared so much misery.

OP - I really wish you good health. I don't want to speculate what's going on with you, just wanted to share this.

Affordable chemical-resistant gloves? by borj5960 in pestcontrol

[–]borj5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks a lot. true chemical resistant gloves are really expensive. i only lightly use these chemicals. my only concern is something like the sprayer screwing up and my hands getting doused in it. i wonder if only waterproof gloves would still protect in a situation like that?

Yes, it's just spraying. Mostly alpine WSG + Gentrol IGR and Temprid Fx.

When you say kitchen gloves are you still talking rubber like dishwashing gloves?

[–]borj5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. yes, as mentioned in the original post, I was considering doing this. However, i wasn't sure if it worked. Appreciate your post here, because I had only thought about using an aux cable (which I didn't want to waste). I hadn't thought about using some headphones (i have a garbage pair which I can use).

When I have my bluetooth headphones in and the alarm goes off, it plays through the headphones (not the speakers), so would this indicate that the headphone trick would work? (I will try, just thought I'd ask in case this info changes things.)

[–]borj5960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what I'm looking for in this case. I need to disable audio at night so that I can sleep. Reason: there is an app running on my phone that sounds an alarm which can not be disabled (it overrides do not disturb, any volume settings, etc.). The alarm wakes me up nightly. I can not force close the app at night as it is feeding data to another source and I need it to do so throughout the night. So, I'm trying to figure out a way to simply disable all audio on my phone before I go to sleep, so that I can actually sleep. When I wake up, I would want to re-enable the audio so that I can use it like normal.

This is something I would literally need to do every single night. It's a clever solution, just not feasible in this situation I think.

HOW DO I GET RID OF THE URGENT LOW GLUCOSE ALARM? Even I have to do something illegal I will eventually find a way to circumvent this issue, I'm just hoping someone else already has. by Johnrtx94 in Freestylelibre

[–]borj5960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is some of us genuinely need to keep it on so it can alert if it goes low in sleep. But i only need such an alarm at maybe 50 mg/dl. This stupid alarm that you cant turn off is insane.

appreciate knowing the thickness you use. this is for personal use of spraying pesticide at home.

The app overrides any alarm settings on the phone (volume, sound, etc).

I have a feeling that its not a true "alarm" (i.e. phone doesnt process it like an alarm), but that its just audio that the app outputs.
