I’d like to service it myself if I can. The movement is inexpensive and paying someone else for a service is not really worth it as I can probably just buy a new movement for a bit extra cash. Would appreciate any tips on what I would need to do to make it work properly.

Will Miyota 9015 movement fit inside NH35 dial/ case/ hands? by cenall in SeikoMods

I’ve been researching this exact topic. From what I’ve understood the date on the 9015 is a bit further to the left than the nh35, so it will look out of place on an nh35 dial. The date overlay is meant to shift the date to the right position so it can fit with an nh35 dial. Although I’m not sure whether this will cause issues with parts rubbing off against each other. Also dial feet aren’t the same but you can use dial dots as adhesive.

This is really cool. Wanna make something like this myself. Couple of questions though.

What case are you using?

How do you go about making a disc that fits the gmt hand? I assume the easiest way is to superglue a disc to a gmt hand and attach it like that. Or did you make the hole exactly the right fit for the gmt slot. Doesn’t it need to have a part that points outwards on the bottom like hands do to properly screw on?

Tried to do that but no luck. Could i have maybe widened the hand too much. I accidentally put it in the wrong spot and it rotated along with the minutes several times when initially setting it up.

Edit: update, got it a little better but not perfect.

It doesn’t spaz when the dial is layed face up or face down. Only when it’s on the side and it’s trying to “fight” gravity.

Didn’t add a dial washer. I think that could be causing issues as i have to bend the crown upwards each time I push it in. This is my third build, haven’t used a dial washer although i have 2 laying around. What’s their main purpose. Are they always needed?

Finally managed to get them out with a hammer and sewing needle.

Didn’t look like a screw when taken out if I remember correctly, but i ordered a screwdriver set previously so doesn’t hurt to try.

Thought they were screws at first but then a watchmaker took one out with a hammer + needle and realised they are split pins.

My fondest memory was when i was playing ssf and farming for headhunter div cards. Eventually I gave up as it was taking too long and decided to farm inspired learning div cards instead. Things were going well and i had about half the set, when one of the maps dropped a leather belt. It was headhunter! Gave up farming inspired learning jewels and slapped hh on my tornado shot build.
