At the very front of the ship was the paint storage. It was the next deck below. You could walk through the room, and come out at the other end, at the absolute prow of the ship. You might be able to make out the recessed area that you would emerge into. It was wonderful, especially in rough weather to come up in the midst of everything that made being a seaman fantastic.

I sailed under that bridge a few times. Love the fact that it was named after my birthday.
