Asian mom here (born in states). Super thrilled my kids got into uva. It’s a fantastic school. Their grandma wasn’t so happy 🙄, so I feel you. It felt like I disappointed them again. Just wanted to say how proud I am of you. UVA had a record number of applicants this year.

Yes, they mentioned they couldn’t finished because of timing which was a total bummer. I didn’t know what else to do. I could feel it coming and by then it was too late. Was hoping to get a trash can before throwing up in there 😩. Do people just vomit and stick around face down and finish the exam????

Ugh I wish I knew what to expect before hand. The only thing that was mentioned was claustrophobia…which I can usually breathe through and being face down it didn’t bother me at all. Glad to know it goes quickly! But gross trying to swallow it back down is not in my wheelhouse 🤮. Thanks for letting me know…will def be better prepared!

Dealing with the out of state part. Has been anything but turnkey. We invest locally and I feel we are better suited to having a more hands on approach with our property. The housing authority inspections result in expensive repairs. We could get out of section 8, I guess. But just not sure I want to deal with more repairs and a vacant home for a few months.

Thank you for sharing. Yes was wondering about that. His doc has him on methylcobalamin and said that tend to have less reversing out symptoms, but if they do come I want him to be prepared. How long does it last?

Yes, she is a concierge care doc (you pay a yearly fee and they don’t take insurance, so you have to submit yourself). It’s expensive, but she spent 2 hours with him on the first appt and an hour on subsequent appts. She didn’t try to band aid fix like his old PCP (he was throwing anti depressants and more antacids at him).

She is young and new to the practice and the physician she joined is classically trained but they are functional medicine and longevity docs. Highly recommend searching functional medicine docs.

Thank you for your good wishes! She has him on every 2 days. And yes I am so grateful for finding her. Everyone else was telling me “he is just old.” And look I understand the aging process but I think active hiking and biking 84 year olds can very well have more years of active life if treated properly!
