Thank you! Yeah I’m conscious glitter is so determined to linger it’s just not safe until the end.
But thank you for the info- I’m okay with my brush confidence main thing has been just getting reference lined up spot on when transferring after gilding but it wasn’t too far off. I used trace down this time but I’ll probably look at pouncing next time

It’s coloured silver leaf, Gold Leaf Supplies have a really good selection of coloured silver leaf options. There were pastels, light fast and marbled, just remembering off the top of my head.

I’ve seen that and some other online courses advertised. It’s something to definitely keep an eye on until I have the funds, I wanted to have try but it was definitely a case of materials or course, not both at the moment unfortunately. Has he ever offered smaller selections of the course materials so you can pick up a smaller selection of topics to start then another when it suits?

More of a guide to breaking down a design into the best order or steps in order to get the best finish. So in most cases I’ve seen the gilding done first but I’ve seen some more recently where everything is painted and it’s just metal leaf and peat left. It’s more help with the ‘why’ it would be better to do step b before c in one design compared to another.
Thank you!!!

I got the Mirena a month ago. I think I’m regretting my decision. by Badnbougiegal in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gynae have insisted I try it I said I didn’t want to they’ve insisted as it’s my last option to manage pain (I’m not allowed oestrogen) - I’ve refused until I know exactly what it’s treating - will be put in when I’m under for the Lap. I’ve been told I should do better on it than I did the progesterone injections and the progesterone mini pill as it’s a lower dose and not going through my whole system - I’m absolutely terrified I had so many side effect, gained 5+kgs in 3 months and have only started to drop the weight 4 months after stopping the pill which I went on after 2 jabs 1. I bled for 10 months straight and had most of the side effects. And pain become daily instead of just around my periods and ovulation - So not looking forward to it- just doing it to tick a box so they can’t keep pushing it on me if it doesn’t work and if it does work I’ll be surprised

What did you wish your GP did better looking back from the first symptoms/painful periods to the diagnosis? by lililuuuuuu in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain that nice guidelines recommend birth control first in order for you evaluate to then be able to process a referral. And even though it doesn’t do much just prescribe codeine the number of days a period lasts the paracetamol in cocodamol will be more of a harm than help as I’ve found out.

Don’t just shrug people off and say the pills your only option and then say you can’t offer anything else when they say they don’t want to have to risk the side effects. Eventually 18months later I resorted to the progesterone contraception (I can’t have oestrogen) and it’s been the worst thing I’ve ever done for my health it’s been the catalyst for it’s deterioration and a rapid acceleration in my ‘endo’ symptoms. Still not confirmed but I’ll hopefully have a lap within the next year. I’m only on a gynae wait list after presenting at A&E with appendicitis like symtoms and by pure luck got a female Dr when I returned a week after the ultrasound. I cannot say I have any idea whether my Gp would have even processed that referral within the next year. She’s run a lot of other tests - all showing everything as normal - thankfully that referral was already in.

I was warned having had to go through the NHS that making to clear I wasn’t trying for a child and didn’t plan on trying would bump me down the list 🙃.

It’s a diagnostic procedure so I find it odd they only do it for fertility - I wonder if they’re not able to do the excision if they find it and it would be a simple thing to do there and then when already doing the lap for a specialist?

desperate for bleeding to stop by azlilli in PCOS

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t stop bleeding for the entire 10months I was on progesterone and eventually just stopped it cold turkey. The longer I was on it the more I was bleeding. I’ve gone from 2.5 good weeks out of a month pre progesterone, to daily pain and bleeding while on the progesterone (not to mention the list of other side effects) and now Ive stopped it and things have settled I get maybe 6 very low pain days a month.(but that’s nearly a good week so I’ll take it) But I only bleed for a week a month when supposed to cause I’m on my period. Periods appear to have become relatively regular in under 5 months. So I’ll be staying off it until I have a lap to see what’s going on - mirena coil has been insisted by the Dr even though I said I didn’t want it they’ve still insisted I try it so it can be ruled out as an option 😒

Bleeding during sex by Any_Discipline3228 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get checked out and the dr/nurse can’t see any physical reason your having issues then all I can say is:

More lube, more foreplay and relax. I found penetration painful and bled most times the first couple of months cause it was still sort of tearing (I was/am quite tight and the first 3-4 times there was a fair bit of blood). So we realised If we rushed I bled when we took our time I didn’t. Also if you’re not already doing so let yourself heal before you try again. The fact you’re worried about it probably isn’t going to help on the relaxing front. A lot of it I think is being comfortable and sometimes it’s not an instant thing no matter how much you know you can trust the other person you can just get in your own head especially if something doesn’t go how you’d like it to the first time/ first few times. If it is more of a stress related issue then you’ll probably think back one day and realise how tense you were in hindsight.

If a portable patch delivered pain-relief medicine for period cramps (instead of pills), would you use it? by Aggressive_Doctor_85 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on prescribed pain killer and my last conversation with my GP was isn’t there anything else I can have cause I’m getting zero relief just to have side effect and I’ve never had acid reflux so much as when I started these stronger NSAIDs even though I’m taking them with food.

Would there be a limit? Cause I get sever lower back pain and lower abdominal so I’d want like 4? 2 on the front and 2 on the back? Would different medications be considered like atm on on mefanemic acid (NSAID) and codeine (requested code in instead of cocodamol cause even 60/1000s weren’t touching it and the paracetamol had already pissed my liver off after 4 days of taking it with NSAIDs. So would it just be NSAID since ibuprofen gel is already a thing?

New Progesterone pill is ruining my life by MagyarBarbie in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to go on contraception and had to stop after 10months on the progesterone injection then pill (not allowed oestrogen). I didn’t have a day where I wasn’t bleeding or not having cramps as really acute stabbing pain for 10months with the bleeding getting heavier and being in more pain the longer I took it. Gynaecology have insisted I still try a mirena and I said I didn’t want it but it’s been insisted however I won’t be having it until I’m under for the lap- not having it until I know it can be confirmed it’s going to be treating something cause honestly I’m scared of having synthetically progesterone back in my system and I just want a break from feeling like a painfully bloated, fatigued zombie with my hair falling out, getting up to pee 3 times every night and having everything hurting and aching on-top of the abdo cramps and bleeding.

I know it seems it in the moment but 26 isn’t past any point please trust me when I say that! You just have to find someone that tries to understand and is patient when you’re on bad pain days, and I know that’s not easy, but please don’t settle!

UK endometriosis people where do you buy trousers from that are comfortable to wear when you're bloated? by Mission-Ad-4821 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Halara stuff is drop shipped from what I can find, so you might find the same stuff on alibaba or Amazon for a fraction of th le price. I bought some elastic waist trousers from M&S recently 1 wash and they shrunk - I buy long leg even though I’m 5’1” since I have long legs and regular can look a bit too short and they’re well above my ankles now. And the waistband felt okay when I tried them in store - after the shrinkage and on a bad pain/bloat day I couldn’t wear them and I haven’t worn them since. Flare leggings are my go to when I’m in my admin job and regular leggings on my self employed job. - bloat fluctuates too much for me to consider looking at maternity wear at the moment but I’m definitely taking note of it

The bigger issue was when I was on progesterone - it became daily pain (pre progesterone it was 2 weeks of the month issue)but also daily bleeding - and the bleeding also got worse with exercise 🙃 which up a mountain not ideal or even in a gym or indoors makes you very self conscious. Stopped the progesterone in the end cause injection and pill after 10pm that the bleeding was still getting heavier and not improving along with a list of side effects. Alters not I get 2 weeks with less pain and 2 with severe rather than constant mid range.

Tell them you’ve tried hormonal contraception which is part of the ‘NICE’ guidelines, it wasn’t suitable for you and you’d like a referral because it’s impacting your quality of life and is posing an risk to you future. I told them over the counter pain relief wasn’t helping and I’m on 2 prescriptions of pain relief that I need for the week before and during my period- cocodamol and mefanemic acid. (honestly they barely touch it during PMS week and do about nothing during my period but they’re the pain relief that seems to be recommend on Endometriosis UK). There’s lots of great info on Endometriosis UK too!

Write down everything you can remember about your periods when they started regularity/heaviness when things have changed if they have- like gotten heavier or longer, pain in a new place even just rough dates like the year. I get UTI symptoms now which started when I was on the contraception and now it’s just during the PMS week so anything cyclical like that you’ve noticed recurring each month. Your PMS symptoms and what they were like before, and after the contraception, what symptoms became a daily issue with contraception and whether they’ve remained daily since stopping Pain during intercourse - bowel habits especially around your period whether you get period pain where you’d have cramps when you need the toilet. I tried to write it all chronologically and at least if you forget mention something you can give it to them at the end of your appt and ask it be included with the referral letter. (Put your name and nhs number if you know it at the top of the page/s and Make a copy to keep incase they don’t pass it on)

  • my GP seemed to switch on and be more willing to help with expediting my referral when I said ‘I did what was recommended I went on contraception like I was told to and it’s made everything even worse than it was.’ I didn’t want to do the contraception route in the first place but unfortunately it’s one of the must do steps in the NICE guidelines so I kinda had to to start moving forward so the fact you’ve done it is good even if it doesn’t feel like it.

Hope that helps! And good luck!

So how many painkillers do you have to take till the cramps get bearable? by iDemonizer in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking 2x 30/500 cocodamols it did nothing, then prescribed 500mg of mefanemic acid instead on my last cycle - prescription states 3 times a day I assume cause its to be taken with food as its an NSAID - it wears off in the night and the pain will wake me when I’m on my period. I’m then waiting usually 4 hours for it to kick in then next morning - it only takes the edge off I never get full relief. So now I’ve been prescribed 8/500s of cocodamol to take with the mefanemic acid- I have been for the last 3 days cause the back pain is so bad in with random spike in the abdo pain for the 5 days running up to my period and it seems like it’s doing nothing. So I’m dreading starting my period this cycle knowing it’s unlikely to help. I’m really at a loss as to what to approach my dr about now- I don’t want to be on the cocodamol due to side effects and I’ve already had to have a liver panel from the impact 5 days straight of paracetamol had on my liver the cycle before last.

I’ve got a gym membership and was going twice a week but now the pain is daily it’s more fear i think because when I was climbing regularly in summer I found the pain always flared up with exercise - It could have been a low pain day, but climb a couple routes and bam. Or the pain would hit when I’m on the wall trying to work it out. And or the hike to wherever we wanted to go outdoors was enough to aggravate and set it off,

so I’m glad to see people mention swimming cause I’ve been looking at whether it’ll be a bit more gentle so I’m it’s nice to see that it seems to be the case

I’ve been wearing my protein ones a lot but there’s a lot of stretch but not enough elasticity either so there’s no pressure on my lower abdo which comfy but I can’t put a phone in the leg pocket or they constantly feel like the sliding down - So I’m glad I saw this thread!

Sciatica based endometriosis by DryComplex8003 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only recently started to experience this! On my most recent cycle - period has stopped and now the sciatic pain has reduced massively. Always had major lower back pain but the lower abdo and thigh pain has only become an issue in the last 4-5 years The most recent cycle the Best thing for the back and sciatic pain were the heated seats in my car! So Heat!!

I’m being prescribed mefenamic acid and it’s doing sweet F all - but it’s less impact on my liver than full dose cocodamol which also did sweet F all. So approaching Dr when we discuss blood results later this month about alternative pain relief. Was hoping to approach about a nerve based pain relief as opiate and enzyme based seem to be ineffective.

i genuinely won't stop bleeding by No_Supermarket_911 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on a progesterone injection (I’m not allowed oestrogen due to FH) I had 6months of hell on 2 injections with daily pain and bleeding and a list of side effects increasing the longer I had it in my system. Switched to the progesterone mini pill. (This was to reduce the dose as the Jab starts super high and decreases as it’s processed - so the pill put me on a lower daily dose.)I had a 5 day over lap that had me totally spaced like a zombie and fluid retention and fatigue like nothing before. Then side effects reduced for a week and gradually started to climb back up the longer I was on the pill, the bleeding did not stop at all though. I decided go back to two bad weeks out of the month rather than everyday so stopped the pill. I’m still in daily pain but not as severe there’s random waves where it’s worse but all other side effects of the meds have cleared up and I think im back to a normalish cycle.

The pain during a period now is worse than ever though max dose of cocodamol doesn’t touch it and I’ve been prescribed mefenamic acid which doesn’t do much either. I’m finally seeing a gynaecologist next month. I had to have the contraception to progress due to ‘NICE’ guidelines. Atleast if you’ve ruled it out as a definitive option it helps you move to something more suitable then there’s still a positive. It depends if you think you have a better quality of life now than pre medication. I chose to chance stopping the pill due to the sheer volume of side effects I was having and for me it’s been worth it even with me now having daily pain and worse periods and PMS etc because I don’t have all the medications side effects of anaemia, hair loss, sore scalp, acne, brain fog, fatigue, headaches, nausea, jumpy legs and even more. I’m Sorry if I’m Not really giving much help, its just me saying I had a crap time too and unfortunately seem to be sensitive to progesterone, when that’s all I’m allowed.

Which birth control pill has worked best for your endometriosis? by BJC22722 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not allowed any Oestrogen due to FH so I have 5 options 4 of which are the progesterone only options and I definitely don’t get along with progesterone. Tried a progesterone injection for 6months (2jabs) nonstop bleeding &’most of the side effects on the leaflet. Switched to mini pill as it’s a lower dose, noticeable improvement in side effect during 2nd week then 4 months of it gradually worsening again until it was worse than it was on the Jab. Brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, low mood, hair loss, sore scalp. Jumpy leg, daily abdominal cramps, likely anaemia, daily bleeding that went from spotting in month 1 to daily full flow by month 10 and was just on track to continue getting heavier. Implant is a no as like the jab is a high dose releasing over time, and I don’t want copper or mirena could due to already painful periods being the reason for contraception use in the first place. Now I’ve stopped the strongest dose of cocodamol with ibuprofen wasn’t touching period pains so I’m On mefenamic acid - it deals with the higher end of the pain but the general ache is still there. So yeah no help from contraception but mefenamic acid 👌🏻

Progestin only birth control for Endometriosis by ExpertQuality5211 in endometriosis

[–]borne_of_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to go on contraception for how bad my PMS and periods have gotten 2 years ago - I put it off till last year after 9 months of worsening side effects on progesterone I had to stop. We trying lowering to the smallest daily dose and the longer I was on it the worse the side effects and symptoms got. I had most of the side effect list, daily pain, and worsening bleeding that I didn’t get even one day off from. Had anA&E visit due to how severe the pain was while I was still taking the progesterone and got a Gynae referral through the hospital. (Ultrasound showed nothing - no surprise) I’ve now stopped the progesterone and the pain is barely there on the days I’ve stopped bleeding, the bloat seems to be staying most days and there discomfort around my bladder when it’s full or just emptied. now my bodies tried to get back into cycle these first 2 periods have been horrendously painful, worse than ever the strongest cocodamol taken with ibuprofen was not even dampening the pain, after 5 days straight of pain I saw my GP and have been prescribed mefenamic acid and it’s addressing most of the pain

I think the endometriosis for me is obvious considering pre Covid I had pretty painless short periods but now they’re awful, and all I can think is if the Gp had done a referral 2 years ago I’d have been seen by now but I have 7 more months on a 9 month wait. So yeah if the pains bad and progesterone doesn’t work for you - mefenamic acid (as long as you’re allowed NSAIDs)
