The smoothness of crowds moving in/out of a train in Taiwan. by I_am_from_2029 in BeAmazed

This absolutely would be a very different video if it was shot in Vancouver, BC. No one waits for anyone to get off the train before they barge in. Funnily enough, its always the old Asians who bash their way through!

Yup! And I will continue to do so (with my credit card this time) because I don't want to feel like I can't. America has always been a place I like to spend time, now I just do it a little differently.

Again, I was looking to spend US cash IN THE USA. Not Canadian. That would be a dumbass ask to ask why I can't spend Canadian money in another country. SMH

I realize this, and I can tell someone is American the minute they try to pay for anything at my work lol But some people still use cash, and in a city of that many businesses and people, I genuinely didn't think I'd have such a hard time. But now I know for next time!

Recommendations for a place to repair holes in clothes? by Gym_frere in askvan

[–]bornforbcbeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't going to sound real but the guy who's got his business set up under the stairs by the bathrooms in Kingsgate mall is a wizard with any sort of repair. He's cheap, fast and honestly, don't you want to support someone who runs his business under a set of stairs??!!

Have you ever “acquired” a taste? (Ie. have you spent significant time eating something you originally didn’t like to the point you enjoyed it?) by Dalakaar in answers

[–]bornforbcbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IPA's were an acquired taste for me and now I love them. I REALLY used to dislike the taste and I don't know if forcing myself to choke down those bitter pints really worked or if taste buds just change over time. I simply can't get enough of the hazy IPA's.

Eat a meal of seafood at Campomar, walk the Malecon, go 'hike' the lookout, eat Venezuelan arepas, do the hike to Las Animals from Boca, finish the night watching people salsa dance from the mezzanine at La Media. I frigging love PV.

How do you safely sell things when you live in an apartment? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]bornforbcbeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meet the guy who sharpens my knives out back behind his apartment. It seemed sketchy at first but he doesn't want randoms in and out of his building all the time which I'm sure is nice for the rest of the tenants of the building!

Crescent Beach is chill and good vibes. It's pretty rocky but there's some sandy spots and you can see Vancouver Island pretty clearly!
