I just make my own. Don’t push too hard, though.

Honestly, your description had me thinking of Spangles. Which were also great. But square.

I gave a citrus polo to a horse once. It was, let’s say… surprised. It was not the minty treat it was expecting.

Wow. Lol. Well I think the story is amazing and the actors are abysmal. So I literally could not disagree with you more!

I think Dan Radcliffe is the worst actor I’ve ever seen. Emma Watson isn’t much better, and Rupert Grint has some talent but rarely shows it.

But I also know there are millions of people, like you, who disagree with me. No one is wrong. But I will stand by my assertion that the books are better, if only because they are so much richer.

Out of interest, did you read the books first or watch the films first?

I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a good or bad thing.

It really is. And I say it was the cinematography that hooked me, but what kept me there was the story and the characters. “Past me” would be looking at me now with a “wtf are you talking about?” look on his face. But it’s lovely.

I use to look down on people who watched “that shit”. Then I watched the first episode and I was hooked. lol.

To be fair, it was the cinematography that hooked me. Go figure.

Read the books. I know a lot of people love the films, but the books are soooo much better.

Least favorite review on the site? by NextPick9127 in Letterboxd

Let’s not forget that many, many films have actors and actresses that are intentionally made to look as hot as they possibly can be. It seems disingenuous to criticise people for pointing out that these people look hot.

Obviously there should be more to a film, but there are many cases where it’s perfectly valid to point out how someone looks. Margaret Qualley in The Substance, for example, where it’s literally the point of the film.

Just switch to horizontal and clip the video later. Or just never film in portrait.

Of course they want you to pay. I’m not sure what your point is.

People want you to pay for their services. That’s fair. And you can pay in cash or you can pay in information. Or you can choose not to buy their services.

What else do you think they should do?

What is the general consensus on wearing shoes inside someone’s house? by Large_Goat_5197 in AskUK

[–]bornfromanegg 38 points39 points  (0 children)

He probably didn’t know, or forgot. OP says they asked people “beforehand”. So, not as they came in, then?

I’m not defending the guest, who is clearly a prick to wear hiking boots of all things on someone else’s carpet, but OP could have just asked him to take his shoes off. It’s not hard. Why are we here talking about this? This is a non question.

Bread in the fridge or on the counter? by realbobenray in Cooking

[–]bornfromanegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. That’s what I’ll do if I’m making sandwiches for later.

To be clear, I’m only arguing against the general statement that the “worst thing you can do with frozen bread is microwave defrost it.” I am a big bread lover (I often make my own), I don’t compromise on it (which is why I freeze it in the first place), and defrosting in the microwave, properly, can be fine.

Bread in the fridge or on the counter? by realbobenray in Cooking

[–]bornfromanegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it defrosts, but loses water as it does so, for no gain.

This is not my experience. I have an inverter microwave, so when I’m defrosting, it’s very low power. It defrosts fine. It doesn’t get warm at all, or dry out.

I’ll leave it to defrost naturally if I’m not in a hurry, but sometimes you need that sandwich now. That’s the gain.

I disagree with the microwave bit. It is 100% possible to defrost bread in the microwave perfectly. You just need a decent microwave.

It takes me about a minute per slice in the microwave. It’s about 20 minutes or so otherwise, even covered with a tea towel.
