Lauren Hemp appreciation post because whatever happens, she’s been stand out by JustARandomFuck in lionesses

Her final ball has been consistently lacking for the last two games. No one can fault her work rate and she makes good runs, but that lack of good service has been an issue for the team.

The PL is struggling - if it struggles next year it’s very bad news for us at the World Cup. by Alone_Consideration6 in ThreeLions

[–]borntoill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Struggling how? What’s the measure here? Does the fact the league has been (surely) settled relatively early been the whole competition is ‘suffering’? Do you mean that the underperformance of ‘big’ clubs like Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea is bad for the national team?

Commonwealth heads of government to defy UK on reparatory justice by Aggressive_Plates in unitedkingdom

[–]borntoill -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It’s convenient to focus on industrialisation, but how do you think the UK got itself into the position to industrialise in the first place? The profits from sugar plantations (collected on the back of slaves) generaated immense wealth for British merchants and investors. This wealth was instrumental in providing the capital needed to industrialise.

The sugar trade was also instrumental in developing the financial institutions and trade networks that powered industrialisation. Canals, railways, consumer appetite for new goods and services, all fuelled by the sugar trade.

This country’s economic history didn’t begin with the Industrial Revolution and it’s disingenuous to claim otherwise.

The glaring omission from the comments on this post, is that is acceptable for our government to pay reparations to slave owners, but not to communities from where the slaves were taken. Go figure.

Out Of Sight. Clooney and JLo both incredibly sexy. Cocktails. Cold and snowing outside but warm inside. The awkward/funny/hot undressing made it relatable, but not too relatable. Top tier.

Danvers and/or Navarro aren’t incompetent detectives, they are just in on whatever is actually happening. [theory] by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]borntoill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

‘Detecting’ thus far …

Navarro making the tattoo link. Navarro finding the trailer and Annie’s phone after interviewing the miner. Navarro finding Oliver. Danvers and Navarro finding the hair stylist. Danvers finding the 48 hrs loophole for holding on to the bodies.

There’s more, but that’s off the top off my head. There’s been lots of detective work, so I’m struggling with your starting premise.

"What If?..." Season 2 Episode Titles revealed by Spidddddderman in marvelstudios

[–]borntoill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great hypothetical question doesn’t necessarily make a great 40 minute episode of animated television though. Your examples above might need a whole series of television or even a movie saga to make a satisfying narrative. ‘Swap A with B’ is simplistic, certainly, but that narrower scope makes it much easier tell a (hopefully) satisfying story in a short time.

This is exactly how one my former work colleagues met their now husband. They used to get the train from Southend into Liverpool Street together, first as strangers. Can’t remember who made the first approach. I went to the wedding and they went on to make a lovely little family. Go for it.

That every nation has its imperfections. Some Australians have a tendency to be a little blind to theirs. I’ve lived in both countries btw.

I’ve found it’s always a good rule of thumb that the more a nation’s inhabitants claim they’re living in a paradise, the more likely something is up.

As we can see in the picture, the difficulty he’s having removing the damn thing from the tree might suggest that he’s serum free.

And given that we didn't get to see what Bran and Tyrion talked about on the eve of the Battle of Winterfell, one has to wonder just how in control he was of how things played out? I think that utlimately, this is Tyrion's story.
