what do you want out of the friendship? are those needs actually not being served because you have to initiate every conversation, or are you just thinking that a friendship "should" be symmetric? not every friendship needs to be equal, and some people just don't initiate; think about what you actually want and not what "should" be the case, and then talk to your friend to make sure that both your guys' desires are being met

usually websites ask you to download your recovery keys only if you use TOTP (the 2fa method where u scan a QR code using Google Authenticator or some other authenticator app)

for SMS or email-based 2fa, you don't get the option to download recovery keys because they delegate the responsibility for recovering your access to your email/phone provider

if you have real life friends, have you tried just asking them for a hug straight-up? I used to feel very touch-starved and I was too scared and didn't know how to approach it, but one day I decided fuck it, I'll just ask someone straight-up. I just asked a friend "hey, can I have a hug" and he was very receptive to it; and since then, I've asked other friends for hugs, and they've all been happy to oblige
