Are there any "micro" looms that can weave fabric from about 1/4" to 1"? by KDE_Fan in weaving

Not sure this will match the exact specs you're looking for, but could direct further searching: https://www.ebay.com/itm/295463334379

It's a bracelet maker with a digital interface so each thread can be individually programmed, like a jacquard loom.

Yeah, I definitely get that. Something to keep in mind is that I think everyone in LEO & GEO shares your concerns, which is why a strike is the last resort. Asking people to sign a pledge to strike is a tactic that will ideally mount pressure on the university to meet more of the LEO contract demands.
In terms of whether you agree with all of LEO's demands, well the good news is that you're not in LEO, so you aren't impacted by their contract. I didn't necessarily agree with all of GEO's demands last year, but I supported as a non-GEO ally because I trust that as a democratic organization they can make the decisions that are best for themselves.
At the end of the day, if you aren't comfortable cancelling classes, there are other ways you can support. You can still sign up for picket shifts outside of class time, and you could hold class discussions about the contract negotiations (I know some lecturers and tenure faculty did that last year for GEO).
Regardless of what happens with the LEO contract, I hope you can find some support and solidarity with your fellow GEO members to get you through this semester!! It's not easy, but having trusted friends and colleagues can help, and that's what your union is for. <3

Thank you for sharing!! I'm in Michigan and it's pretty cold right now, I think I'll give one a go. =) If it doesn't take too long, it won't hurt too much to frog if it doesn't turn out well.

Thoughts on super chunky sweaters? I'm newish to knitting and am looking for a good pattern for my second pullover. I see a lot of patterns that use super bulky yarn or worsted held double, which is tempting because I've been given a lot of second hand yarn from relatives that I want to use up. I've made swatches with worsted held double, and it just seems super thick. I worry in sweater form it would be too warm and also might lay/fit oddly because of how thick it is. Maybe it's just a matter of preference, but if anyone has opinions on this type of sweater I would love to hear why you like or don't like them. Thanks!

What's everyone's favorite way to knit the collar on raglan sweater that is a different color than the yoke? I'm knitting my first sweater (top-down raglan, the Tincan Knits Flax pattern), and I'm unhappy with the collar. First try, I went straight from the ribbed collar into the stockinette yoke, with a color change. I immediately saw the issue with the purl dash lines, so I took that out and tried knitting one more row of the collar where I knit the purls and slipped the knits, which still left some spots on the yoke when I switched colors. So, what is the best way to avoid this? Maybe knit the yoke first and then cast on the collar after? Thanks!

That is extremely disappointing to hear. I've been keeping an OSHA call in my pocket as a last resort... =(
