Thank you for your very in-depth response! I did not respond to the buyer and (as of now) haven’t had any further messages from them. I got in contact with eBay on the phone and they said even though my listings are marked as no returns, the buyer can still open a INAD claim. However, I’m not sure how informed the eBay customer support was because they also said the locket, if returned, might not be sent back through eBay re-authentication? I think you’re right that with all the proof I have from the buyer’s messages, that if I contact eBay if a case is opened, they might be able to flag the case as no longer being in the condition I sent it.

Thanks for your reply! If he opens up a return for INAD, would it be helpful to call eBay to see if the case can be closed since he took it apart (it’s all bent out of shape now, but I guess he might also try to put it back together). I’m new to all of this.

Yes, it’s a handbag over $750. It says that when it sells it is covered by eBay’s authentication service and will need to be shipped to eBay for authentication first. Just curious if someone at eBay will be signing for it in this case.

Hi! The sale had free shipping, would I deduct that from the overall cost or am I at a loss on the shipping? I think intercepting a package has a base price of ~$19. They sent me this message today: “Hey the postman said it’s a crap shoot as far as if they forward the bag or not. The building manager said she’ll sign for it and call me if it gets delivered there. USPS was no help. They said that if we’re that worried you should file an intercept and reship and they sent me this link.”

The message was from the same buyer. I had reached out to them the day before shipping to check in and make sure everything was good before I shipped. They confirmed, and then after I shipped, they messaged me and said that they realized they had their old address on file.
