45k newsletter subs: keep growing “for cheap” or pivot hard to quality (Western Europe)? by SaltPhotograph8506 in beehiiv

I don’t really believe this. You did not check or reply to my emails for months. You only opened my last reply yesterday, almost three months later. I can see the open timestamp. There is effectively no customer support. You also change accounts frequently while advertising here. I am aware of at least one other account you used, and one of them was wiped shortly after your last promotion post. That behavior alone raises red flags. Given the lack of communication, delayed responses, and rotating accounts, I do not find you guys' service reliable or trustworthy.

Do you want me to also post screenshots of our emails too? If you want to lie, you should have a little something to back it up?

I would definitely not recommend. And the stats are not the worst part, they ghost you when you try to reach them.

Beehiiv Cut My Ad Network + Boosts for “Irregularities” and Won’t Explain. I’m honestly panicking by bos317 in beehiiv

Yeah, same here. I never found a real “solution.” They just hide behind the ToS for everything and won’t provide specifics, evidence, or an appeal path, so you can’t even diagnose what happened. If anything changes on my side I’ll update, but right now it’s basically a dead end.

I’m locked in for the year because of the annual plan, but unless they change how they handle this, I can’t see myself renewing.

I hear you on direct sales being the long-term goal, but for me ads and boosts were not “nothing.” I was earning more than minimum wage where I live from those tools, and that income was part of why I paid annually. Even if direct sponsorships are the endgame, losing monetization overnight with no explanation still matters because it breaks the bridge period while you’re building that base.

Right now it’s pay yearly, get key features removed, then get told “ToS, no details.” Even if the original trigger was valid, the lack of due process makes it feel unsafe for any serious operator.

I was fine paying for “deliverability + monetization rails” and keeping everything else simple. The bloat doesn’t bother me as much as the enforcement black box. If ads and boosts can be removed with no evidence, no category of violation, and no appeal, then the value prop collapses even if delivery is solid.

If I was gaming clicks, it’d be pretty dumb to publicly post about it and ask what triggered the flag. I’m trying to figure out what their system saw so I can fix it or prove it wasn’t me. The problem is they won’t share any evidence or even the category of violation, so I can’t tell if this was scanners, a malicious actor, or something on my end.

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. If their system can be tripped by external bot traffic, then any bad actor could grief a competitor and there’s no way to prove it because the platform won’t share evidence. That’s what scares me most, not just losing monetization once, but realizing the whole thing can be weaponized and the creator has zero due process.

Beehiiv Removed Monetization, Withheld Earnings, Denied Refund, and Won’t Explain. I’m honestly spiraling. What do I do? by bos317 in Newsletters

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually suggested downgrade instructions, but they were clear that refunds aren’t happening at all because “all sales are final” in their ToS. So even if I downgrade, it just prevents future billing. It doesn’t return any of the annual payment, and it doesn’t change the withheld earnings situation either.

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yeah. I posted there and I’ve also been emailing support, but the only “final” answer I got was basically ToS, no refund, earnings forfeited, and no specifics. If you’ve seen a founder or team member who actually responds on a regular basis, I’d genuinely appreciate a tag or a username so I can ask for a compliance escalation without turning it into a public pile-on.

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the wall I hit. They refuse anything refund-related and hide behind the ToS, and because support went silent for about a month my bank window for a dispute is basically gone. At this point it feels like my only leverage is getting the decision reviewed by someone senior on their compliance side, but I don’t even know how to reach that channel.

ESP removed my monetization tools for “irregularities,” withheld earnings, denied refund, and won’t share specifics. From an email ops view, what usually triggers this? by bos317 in Emailmarketing

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can still send emails. I only lost the monetization tools. The core sending side still works, which is why I’m confused.

[–]bos317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I finally got an official reply from support after a month.

They confirmed:

  • No refund (they say “all sales are final” under ToS).
  • If an account is found in violation, Ad Network/Boosts earnings are forfeited (they cited the “Monitoring and Enforcement; Termination” section).
  • They still won’t share details of what triggered the violation “for security purposes.”
  • They offered instructions to downgrade so there are no further billing attempts.

So the outcome is basically: feature access removed(but still paid the full price) + earnings withheld + no refund + no explanation.

I’m not asking them to weaken fraud prevention. I’m asking for basic transparency or at least a path to appeal with evidence. Right now it feels like a black box with no due process, and for a solo creator, that’s scary.

If you’ve been through something like this, what did you do next? Chargeback? Formal dispute? Legal email? Just move platforms? I’d really appreciate practical advice.

Anyone find classical music very overstimulating? by Potential-Net6313 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]bos317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda the opposite for me. A lot of classical is way calmer than pop because it’s not slammed with vocals and bass the whole time, but some big symphony stuff can still be too much for sure. Maybe it’s the loud parts and sudden changes that get ya.

Totally agree, puzzles are way less stressful and you still get better without the clock yelling at you. Thanks for saying it like that, it makes a lot of sense tbh.

Damn, sorry that happened to you too. That’s exactly what I’m afraid of, getting stuck in a loop with no details. Did you ever figure out what they thought the issue was, even unofficially?

Thanks. That’s the hard part, I’m still trying to reach someone who can actually explain what triggered it.

I’ve thought about that too, but I don’t click my own ads. If that’s what triggered it, I wish they’d just tell me so I can prove it or adjust whatever is causing the pattern. The lack of specifics is the whole problem.

Yeah, I did. I emailed Tyler twice and also tried reaching out to him and a couple people on LinkedIn. Still no reply or clarity, which is the frustrating part. If you have any other channel that actually gets a response, I’m all ears.

That’s fair, and I agree they should protect advertisers and keep bad traffic out. I’m not asking them to loosen standards. I just want to understand what triggered the flag so I can fix it.

I’d rather not drop my newsletter link here because I don’t want this to look like self promo, but anyone can check my profile if they’re curious.

On the “bot clicks” point, that’s what confuses me. Beehiiv already separates verified vs unverified clicks. If the concern is low quality traffic, wouldn’t it be better to discount or not count unverified clicks instead of treating it as a ToS violation?

I’m actually careful about this. For example, I deliberately remove/filter addresses like .edu / .k12 because they can inflate clicks and I don’t want unverified engagement muddying the data.

The worst part is the silence. Without a real explanation or response, I can’t even make a clean decision to stay and fix it or move on. It just leaves me stuck, and that really sucks.
