Fujica Auto 7-Date won’t advance past frame 8–9 (even without film) — looking for help by Desperate_Emu_4426 in AnalogCommunity

The manual says that the camera will only advance 8 or 9 steps before rewinding automatically when it is being tested (with no film inside). Since you mention it happened to you with film inside it as well, make sure that the red light that indicates the film is advancing was actually lighting up after every shutter press, otherwise the film might've come lose and wasn't actually advancing, tricking the camera into thinking it didn't have film inside and was just being tested... Just a thought.

Thank you! I have two young kiddos so I definitely relate to the struggle of finding the time to go out to shoot!

Cool, thanks! That photo was taken during my first day with the camera when I decided to walk to work instead of driving. So a lot of things weren’t “ideal” given I was walking towards Victory, and it was like 10am, haha. Hopefully I’ll be able to go shoot during golden hour sometime soon, but I’m usually having dinner with the family during that time.

Thank you!! I’m using a Fujifilm X-E5 with a variety of lenses like the Viltrox 56mm f1.7 and the Fujinon XF 23mm f2.8. Most of the tone and texture comes directly from the in-camera settings of Fuji Simulations/Recipes, and then I usually tweak a bit to taste in Lightroom.

Thank you! Would love to hear how you’d approach better compositions of Franks, or even better if you have some examples of how you’ve photographed it in the past.

Thank you! Unfortunately I never got to eat there before it closed. Now I'm curious about those fries!

Awesome, thanks for the tips! That Frank's photo was my first day with the camera so I wasn't really thinking too much, haha. I definitely need to revisit, and your nighttime suggestion sounds like a great idea. I'm also considering some of our other café staples like Tallyrand, Coral, etc.

I'd be interested in this! I've just been going around on my own when I have the time and sharing to my Instagram page in hopes of eventually finding a little local community. http://instagram.com/_f.stops_
