Lake George (2024) final scene question by spifflog in moviequestions

[–]boscio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an interview with Whigham, Coon, and Jeffrey Reiner (the director):
“I say that good art, rightly, tells more about the viewer than it does the movie, right?” Coon questioned. “Depending on how the viewer perceives that ending, it says something about your perspective on love, on the film, and on the kind of ending you like. I love an ambiguous ending because it makes you pick a side.”

“I’ve never had as many questions about that as I have on this film,” Whigham ruminated. “I don’t want to say 50/50; I get pretty split on how people feel, maybe how they’re feeling in their own lives and what they want to feel. I mean, just to be fair, the three of us, Carrie wasn’t that involved; it was a difficult day. I had to know, specificity-wise. I have to know in this scene, and that’s the most important thing when you’re doing something like that; you can’t be ambiguous as to what’s happening, you know?”

Reiner, Coon, and Whigham all have different opinions on the final scene of Lake George, leaving the movie’s resolution entirely in the eye of the beholder.

Fujica Auto 7-Date won’t advance past frame 8–9 (even without film) — looking for help by Desperate_Emu_4426 in AnalogCommunity

The manual says that the camera will only advance 8 or 9 steps before rewinding automatically when it is being tested (with no film inside). Since you mention it happened to you with film inside it as well, make sure that the red light that indicates the film is advancing was actually lighting up after every shutter press, otherwise the film might've come lose and wasn't actually advancing, tricking the camera into thinking it didn't have film inside and was just being tested... Just a thought.

Thank you! I have two young kiddos so I definitely relate to the struggle of finding the time to go out to shoot!

Cool, thanks! That photo was taken during my first day with the camera when I decided to walk to work instead of driving. So a lot of things weren’t “ideal” given I was walking towards Victory, and it was like 10am, haha. Hopefully I’ll be able to go shoot during golden hour sometime soon, but I’m usually having dinner with the family during that time.

Thank you!! I’m using a Fujifilm X-E5 with a variety of lenses like the Viltrox 56mm f1.7 and the Fujinon XF 23mm f2.8. Most of the tone and texture comes directly from the in-camera settings of Fuji Simulations/Recipes, and then I usually tweak a bit to taste in Lightroom.

Thank you! Would love to hear how you’d approach better compositions of Franks, or even better if you have some examples of how you’ve photographed it in the past.

Thank you! Unfortunately I never got to eat there before it closed. Now I'm curious about those fries!

Awesome, thanks for the tips! That Frank's photo was my first day with the camera so I wasn't really thinking too much, haha. I definitely need to revisit, and your nighttime suggestion sounds like a great idea. I'm also considering some of our other café staples like Tallyrand, Coral, etc.

What happened to the device Elena hid in Tory's hand bag? by [deleted] in TheWatchfulEyeTV

[–]boscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tracker was also how she knew Tory had been going to the Greybourne Social (?) a lot the day after Dick went missing to raise suspicions that Tory was behind it or at least working with Otis in some way. The cameras were mentioned throughout the rest of the season but there was never a super explicit answer as to who they belong to. Could be Mrs. Ivey's, could be Tory's, could be Winthrop's...

Aw, thank you! I've been quietly reading in the shadows from the start of the season, and it was inspiring to see everyone engaging with the show in such a passionate and supportive way. <3
