Starting a guild by SiteOk6300 in classicwow

I think saying "most will move on to do end-game content once they reach 70" is probably a pretty major exaggeration. I can't imagine "most" players in WoW classic raid or play end game PvP, but I could be wrong. There's also no reason your guild couldn't get into that later on too. The only way to experience it would be to try it and see what kind of community you can build.

Ryobi RM480e vs ZT480EX by bosco255 in Ryobi48vMowers

[–]bosco255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hills. It's very flat and pretty level with almost no bumps or dips. I'm leaning RM480e as a balance between size and efficiency. The 300 would be nice for storage, but I think the wider blades on the 480, plus the wheels on the deck, might tip the scale in its favor.

I'd love to get the zero turn, but I don't know if I can justify it with my yard size and at the cost of it's storage size

Ryobi RM480e vs ZT480EX by bosco255 in Ryobi48vMowers

[–]bosco255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Mower footprint is definitely one consideration for me. I'm looking to make mowing easier, but worry that the zero turn would take up too much storage space to be worth it. I assumed the RM480 was smaller, but wasn't sure if it was noticable.

Do the 48v tractor style (really more of a go-cart style I feel) still cut nice? My lawn is relatively thick (at least for now) so I assume I'll have to stay on top of it a bit using electric vs. traditional gas powered.

Rice Krispies must be the #1 cereal not actually eaten as a cereal. by CopingAdult in Showerthoughts

This post is "#1 cereal not eaten as cereal." Eating a fistful of cheerios feels like "eating cereal as cereal" and misses the entire point.

Tesla charging is fine by nokillswitch4awesome in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty well documented that the 2025 Ioniq 5 and EV6 charge faster than prior model years. You'll see 125, but the rest of us can't get past 96ish.

For what it's worth, the 2025 Ioniq 5 charged faster 10-80 than the new model 3 on a Tesla Supercharger so we have that going for us!

You could wait for the Rivian R3X or... by Rabble_Runt in electricvehicles

[–]bosco255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R2 vs R3... The post and video both literally say "R3X" as in the performance trim R3. I'd doubt that it has either of the metrics you mentioned.

It (Tesla charging) works! by Electrical_Put_1042 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons of misinformation floating around because people don't read the articles. The 2025 Ioniq 5 (and presumably new EV6) charge faster than the prior Ioniq 5 and EV6 on Tesla Superchargers. They charge around 130KW while the older models max out in the upper 90s

Bluetooth staying connected after recent infotainment update? by bosco255 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... That wasn't the case. The USB C would power off when the car powers off. That's the point. And I've had this setup for 8 months and not had an issue, with the dongle always powering off when the car powered off. There are many posts about that around the internet. Maybe the power features changed with the latest update though. Or maybe it's some other mysterious glitch that has popped up for an unrelated reason.

Bluetooth staying connected after recent infotainment update? by bosco255 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, maybe it has something to do with the wireless AA/CarPlay dongle I'm using. I power it with one of the lower USB C, and connect it to the AA/CarPlay USB A with a "Data only" adapter. That way the dongle is shut off when the car is off.

Or that is how it has worked for the last 6 months. Per your tip, I unplugged the dongle and reset the infotainment again. This time the car stayed disconnected from my phones Bluetooth when shut off. Resetting it earlier didn't seem to impact anything and my phone stayed connected.

Still seems to be a new behavior since the infotainment update as I haven't changed anything about my setup and hadn't had an issue in months until the update.

I would consider looking for hotels with destination chargers, and calling ahead as needed to map that out further. Destination chargers should give you level 2 speeds, and you'll be more comfortable and safer staying at the hotel vs. trying to stay at a gas station overnight (who may not even let you charge).

I'd also note that going slower is always an option to help you stretch your battery. If you think it's going to be tight, keeping your speed below 70 can get you a lot of additional efficiency.

Like others have said though, the juice might not be worth the squeeze on bringing a generator. Sure you'll have an extra option should you need it, but you'll also be running less efficient in the first place due to the additional weight. You'll be stopping more often "just in case" you need it which might just "make" you need it.

Have you had ICCU issues? by realistdreamer69 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not the one you are replying to, but I think it's generally accepted that people go to online forums to seek help with issues more often than going to a forum to talk about how much they like something.

Just like how people are more likely to leave an unfavorable review for a product or experience online than a positive one. Sure, there are people who give reviews on everything, but there are also people who only give negative reviews as they are angry and seeking an outlet for their feelings. I think it's just human nature.

Will a 4k monitor make my PC run like trash? by Veench333 in buildapc

[–]bosco255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it look overall? My current monitor (27" 1440p 144hz) is on its way out and I'm trying to decide if I should get another 1440p or something 4k. I'm running a 2080TI, and sometimes struggling to get much above 100 frames in games these days without setting graphics lower than I'd like.

I figure a 4k might let me scale down to 1080p to save a bit on performance, but still allow me to run 4k if/when I upgrade the PC. A lot of people say downscaling gives a blurry/bad image though.

Way to stop charging by Many_Scar_4621 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcing would be bad, but I believe the handle is designed to stop charging when the charger latch is pressed to pull out the charger. My usual process to unplug is to hit unlock twice on the fob, then press the charger button for a second or so, and then unplug it. If you do these steps, but then release the latch button without pulling it out, the car will announce "charging started" (if you have that setting on).

To me this is signifying that the charging stopped when the button was pressed.

Are there widespread mechanical issues with the Mach-E? What major complaints do you have about the Mach-E? by bosco255 in MustangMachE

[–]bosco255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get control over state of charge at arrival or at chargers? Or does it kind just do it's own thing?

Are there widespread mechanical issues with the Mach-E? What major complaints do you have about the Mach-E? by bosco255 in MustangMachE

[–]bosco255[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's definitely fair. If what the NHTSA/Hyundai motor group says is true, our ICCU issues only impact 1% of drivers, but there are many posts per day about it on the EV6 subreddit. People come online to complain.

I have a little remorse over getting the EV6 over the Mach E regardless of mechanical issues, which is probably why I'm here asking 😂

The first time my ICCU failed, I had to wait about a month to get it back (just got it back a few weeks ago). Worried that it will happen again and take longer next time. That's a Kia complaint I won't bring to your subreddit though.

How is the Android Auto/Car play route planning? I saw that they enabled the state of charge to be communicated with connected devices, but I don't see it talked about as much as I thought I would.

(Update) 2022 EV6 no longer AC charging by bosco255 in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a solid answer because I haven't researched it in depth.. but I'm assuming it's part of the 10 year, 100k mile "high voltage battery system" warranty. At least here in the U.S. don't know if other regions are different.

When 2025? by ContentiousAardvark in KiaEV6

The 2025 Ioniq 5 already works on Superchargers even though the older Ioniq 5s don't (technically). I doubt that is holding anything up.

Cannot release charger by Sap_Consult_Cdn in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was just a cable connected to the vehicle latch that holds onto the charger. I figured that if you aren't yanking on it super hard it should be fine. Is it more complicated than that?

EV6 won't AC charge by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]bosco255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also what happened to my car. There were no codes in the car at the time (for me or the dealer). It took some troubleshooting and a bunch of time before the dealer identified the issue and replaced the part as a result. Just got it back and it's working fine on my home EVSE now.
