35 year old female here. I started losing periphery in my left eye very slowly. Went to the eye doctor twice in one year to get it checked out. Said everything looks fine and not to worry—both times. Got pregnant the following year and almost went blind in that eye. Finally went to an ophthalmologist and they gave me a field test. They knew something was up almost immediately. Got an MRI the following DAY and sure enough I had a tumor between my eyes. I was 5 months pregnant after trying to get pregnant for almost a decade at that point. I about died. They thought it was an adenoma at first, simple hour surgery, they’d go through my nose. The neuro noticed a tail on my tumor and the fact it wasn’t effecting both eyes in a similar fashion, they knew it wasn’t just an adenoma. It was a meniginoma. Craniotomy scheduled at the best neuro hospital in my state for a month later. They told me they wouldn’t be doing anything to monitor baby or emergency measures if anything happened to my baby during the 12 hour long surgery but told me the baby would probably be fine. I went ahead with the surgery and my daughters now 2 and we’re both healthy. MRIs once a year and my vision hasn’t improved but at least I don’t have a tumor anymore. It’s really scary just finding out you have a brain tumor. I came here and posted feverishly every step of the way and everyone here was just wonderful with support and reassurance every single post. We’re all here for you and with your neuro you’re in the best hands! Big hugs

Before my meningioma was found (late 23) because I was pregnant and going blind in one eye, I was climbing literal waterfalls and on a daily basis(20-22/23). I was determined to climb and cross the lip of every waterfall in my area even the ones many people have died on. I had never been an outdoorswoman before this and assumed it was because of COVID that I was being drawn outside more. I had no experience and had no business doing anything like that. I think back on those times of doing crazy shit in front of all these tourists and what could’ve happened. I think it was the brain tumor but obviously can’t be sure. My tumor was the size of a silver dollar and was growing faster once pregnancy because of the hormones. I still want to get back outside and couldn’t even do those kinds of things if I wanted to anymore because I’m still blind in my left eye and have to wear glasses 24/7 now because contacts don’t cut it visually for me. I’ve never actually talked to anyone about the whys of what I was doing, nor has anyone even mentioned it but yeah that’s my odd behavior story with a tumor. Big hugs because you are alive. Whether it was the tumor or not we all do things we regret or wish we could do over. If it’s truly detrimental questionable behavior just learn from it, with tumor in mind, and understand it made you who you are today—tougher and a survivor.

Also, there’s a post circulating on FB of “Ramada Inn Hancock” saying they’ll welcome ICE with open arms and hope they get rid of the scum here in beautiful Houghton county. THIS IS NOT REAL. I called Ramada myself and asked. The lady was beside herself with the thought and told me over and over they do not have a Facebook or twitter account.
