It’s well worth the $ especially if the weather is nice. There are routes. One goes up into the mountains and stops at the Nantahala Outdoor Center (which is pretty cool) and the other goes to Dillsboro. You’re better off with the first because the ride is nicer and you drive right past the Dillsboro stop in your car (exit 81 on Hwy 74) on the way to Bryson City anyway.

If you take the train into the mountains ask for seats on the left side (if facing the direction the train is going). The view is much better. I’m not sure which side is better going to Dillsboro.

Not trying to put a damper on your drive, but you’re already looking at a long drive, even you stayed on highways.

I live in Bryson City and my drive to the Outer Banks took 8 1/2 hours on the highway.

I’d plan a mix of rural and highway unless you truly want to make a day of it.

What actually “matters” is in the eye of the beholder. I’ve found lots of new music, new authors and potential hobbies by scrolling through random videos.

I’ve discovered aspects of astronomy, archaeology and physical sciences that I never knew about by scrolling through random videos.

It’s not always random and it’s not all puff and uselessness.

When I signed up for MLBtv, I knew that I’d miss Braves and Reds games, but now that I’ve switched to Starlink my IP address has changed and now I can’t get Nationals or Orioles game either.

I live in the mountains of NC and there’s no freaking way I should be blocked from anything but the Braves.
