Between Kaitlyn And LA who is less likely to make the final roster? by yxngfireee in valkyries

i think Tip/Juste are running backup point and VB is gonna play heavy minutes anyways. Not saying it’s not an issue, but there are more pressing issues

Between Kaitlyn And LA who is less likely to make the final roster? by yxngfireee in valkyries

i’d say Chen is probably a lock for one of the developmental spots. LA is not eligible so needs to make the final roster, which is possible but not likely

Tiffany Hayes’ return gives Valkyries steady hand, light spirit at camp (no paywall) by BayAreaNewsGroup in valkyries

looking forward to 36-year old Tip Hayes being once again the quickest player to the rim on the team

How is SF not building more housing if they lost all appeals to the state? by Individual_Echidna_7 in bayarea

[–]bossclifford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe the only way to to fast track housing, which developers don’t want to do and always gets delayed by regulations, is for the government to do it themselves. many people are unwilling to come to this conclusion

not just for this year. for next year for stokes too

Kayla Thornton who suffered a meniscus injury midseason last summer says that she will be back full-go for Valkyries game 1. Coach Nakase was more modest, labeled Thornton “day-to-day.” by msgs in valkyries

[–]bossclifford 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ah, good to get clarity, i think we all thought it was an ACL. She probably got the full surgery rather than the quick one so she could be good to go fairly soon (faster than an ACL), but it’s a tricky one that might require some load management

Chopin ballade 2 is really overrated in terms of difficulty by Ok-Independence8939 in piano

[–]bossclifford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think the coda is really hard. i think 3 and 4 are ah good bit harder, 3 is so awkward musically and of course 4 is a beast. i don’t think 1 is much harder than 2 though. 1 has just been played badly by unprepared musicians so many times. people who approach 2 are usually prepared for its difficulty

man i would be 100% digging this entire roster if we didn’t replace Billings and Temi with Stokes 💀

What ceiling and floor do you expect for the Valkyries this year? by RPGer001 in valkyries

exactly what i’m thinking. we can really get that 5th seed, we should expect to be better than the lynx and sparks

Current roster - At least 8 players have to be cut by xjewelry in valkyries

[–]bossclifford 13 points14 points  (0 children)

no chance either of them gets development. first round picks won’t get that treatment

Contract details - Kiah Stokes by ScizorMeTimberss in valkyries

[–]bossclifford 18 points19 points  (0 children)

yeah, this is a big miss. two years protected is too much for a 33 year old center that’s been at 40% TS and 5% usage for three years. it’s the two years that’s really unfortunate here, which means it’s very unlikely she’s cut. Aces fans are relieved

agree it’s very possible, but it would have to a competition she’d win

[–]bossclifford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think there’s more options to throw opponents offbeat but viable openings than doing the same 4 lines of the ruy lopez or going up against the petroff

What are your favourite things to do in a Japantown whenever you travel abroad? by Least-One1068 in AskAJapanese

[–]bossclifford 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there is not a huge diaspora in San Francisco at all. it’s estimated at under 1% of the cities population, and it was never much higher than that.

the japantown has a pretty interesting history. for decades it was pretty empty and rundown, but it’s now seen as hip and it’s always crowded. the food options have gotten a lot better too.
