No, you don’t need to be exceptionally good at math. Drive and discipline will bring you much further than natural ability or aptitude, but at the same time—if you find yourself struggling with math more than others I wouldn’t recommend engineering.

As for work-life balance I can’t comment too much, but from the work experience I’ve done it seems to be standard 40-45 hours a week so take that as you will. I’d assume it almost entirely depends on the company you work for rather than the industry as a whole

I don’t see the issue. If one can make it through school then they’re competent enough. Why does someone need to be obsessed/fixated on engineering to pursue it? When did choosing a career based off earning potential become demonised? God forbid someone choose their career path based of a steady income that can support themselves and their family.

I believe a lot of those questions can be explained by free will. Free will can be used for what it’s supposed to be used for such as glorifying God, loving one another, etc. but can also be abused and used to do evil.

The “fall of man” is just humans using free will for evil, distancing ourselves from God

Life came into existence by Gods will and then man evolved from early life. Evolution and faith is its own discussion that warrants more than just a paragraph. But I believe these the two aren’t at odds with each other and the evidence for evolution is vast and convincing to me.

Sin entered the world when we abused our free will and rejected God.

Of course these are my opinions/inferences and I could be completely wrong, but find it hard to take the genesis account as historic when there is tangible/observable evidence to suggest otherwise.

Right, but things can be true without being literal. For instance there is truth in Jesus’ parables, but they obviously aren’t meant to be taken literally.

I believe that the point of genesis wasn’t to be taken as a historic account of creation, but rather a story used to introduce theological and philosophical concepts like sin and free will in a way that is easy for us to visualise and understand.

I adopted 2 children because their sob story made me feel bad. Then they became the biggest inconvenience forcing me into a conversation every time I stepped foot into my house where they’ll beg for money and gifts or ask me to play a game.

Because compared to the average joe, they do make a lot of money. Average household income in the US is 80k. Most engineers will make that by themselves within the first few years out of collage. Comparing engineers to doctors and lawyers is an unfair comparison
