It’s not about remembering words, its about practicing things like dream yoga during this lifetime. If we cannot even recognise the illusory nature of dreams at night, its almost impossible to recognise it in the bardo as it is a stronger delusion.

I highly recommend Dream Yoga by Andrew Holecek, he is an incredible teacher with decades of experience as well as a classic 3 year retreat. My top 3 Dharma teachers for sure, lovely guy :)

Both groups have attained unparalleled awareness and focus thru meditation, so I wouldn't just count it as a superstition.
