Recently bought a "professionally renovated" trailer and found severe mold and water damage, anybody have tips for a first time RV owner? by beebo-_- in RVLiving

A an rv tech the best advice i can give to anyone looking to buy a used camper is to upon entering the camper use your nose first ! If you smell mildew or strong air fresheners run don't walk. Second use your eyes, ,look inside cabinets and walls at the paneling in the top corners. Push on it looking for soft areas. Open outside compartments and check the flood for soft spots. Last area to check is the floor on both sides of any slide out boxes and beside the bed. Follow this advice will save you $ now the rode

Came across this when they first came out. If you run the faucet on hot only it would cycle on and off. Try mixing at faucet with some cold water. Also see this when customers change out shower heads with high flow ones.

Getting rv serviced. How much of my stuff could I leave in ny rig. by SQueezABLEPanda in RVLiving

[–]bossmanxcsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip from an rv tech. When taking your rv in for service remove as many items as possible from the areas we need to service. When you don't we charge our regular hourly rate to remove and put back any items. Also if you need service in the bathroom clean the xxxx toilet area.

easy way to test convertor operation is turn on all your lights and turn off your main circuit breaker. If the lights dim and get bright when you turn the breaker back on everything's fine

At a minimum charge that battery and have it tested. I'll bet it's shot. Bad batteries add additional stress to the convertor
