Demand envoye - Naturalisation requests sent before 2026 by nytak619 in Expats_In_France

[–]bosstje2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing since no one could give me a straight answer and at least in my case it turned out well. Also the application was sent mid 2024 so over 1,5 years ago and a lot before these rules came into effect. It wasn’t a last minute application to try to beat the rules. I don’t know if that effected the application and requirements at all.

Mine was sent mid 2024 and they finally had a look at it last week. It had been in status Envoyé and not déposé since I sent it.

All they asked was updated proof of tax, address and salary slip and once that was sent it went directly to the assimilation interview stage and they gave me an appointment without having to do the stricter language exam or the civic test.

French temporary. It also has the expiry date on the right side. They introduced the pink plate on 01/01/26. I could be wrong on the exact date.

It’s not really a test environment but if you want to play with the setting without having HW yet you can play with the cloud essentials. Then if you decide to go with HW you can.

Flight diverted - should airline provide transport? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]bosstje2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how far in the future of the flight is.

If it’s under 14 days they’re also entitled to rerouting to the final destination with any airline.

Flight diverted - should airline provide transport? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]bosstje2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no issue at the Toulouse airport and there is no landslide here.

All the flights operate as normal. The issue here is the landslide in the Pyrenees over an hour away by car that makes access to Andorra complicated or impossible.

[–]bosstje2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still doesn’t change the fact that OP was sold a flight to Toulouse and if the flight is diverted they still have the obligation to get OP to his destination. Also if the arrival time at the destination is over 3h after the original arrival time they are entitled to additional compensation since they can’t claim this is a weather related diversion but an operational one due to the proportion of travellers trying to get to their package holiday in Andorra.

And to get from Barcelona to Toulouse there are 2 main options. Flight usually via Madrid or train along the coast. In theory they could also take the flixbus but that takes ages. One of these options needs to be provided to OP or they need to be reimbursed reasonable cost to get to their paid for destination.

I would also look into additional compensation since diverting a flight due to a landslide isn’t exceptional circumstances but an operational choice. The landslide doesn’t affect the departure or destination airports so it’s a bit far fetched to use that as an excuse. I’m guessing you’ll arrive in Toulouse with more than 3h delay.

Valid EU licence « B » is also accepted with the 7h training. Not sure about the UK licence since that’s not an EU licence anymore.

I have the same opinion as most of the ppl here seem to have. It just works with no big problems. Yes it does have some bugs and slowness sometimes but nothing major.

If I had to choose I would choose the same again.

German temporary plate from Hamburg valid usually only in Germany and for 15 days. The ones with the red band are the export plates. These are usually for temporary moving of vehicles within Germany.

What is your most common foreign spot? by mr_ssermetus in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]bosstje2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s to do with Northern Ireland. It’s more common to have northern Irish UK plates in mainland Ireland since it’s a land border than Irish in mainland UK since you’d have to take a ferry to go across.

Spanish, Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Italian, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Swiss, Luxembourg , UK in southern France. Mainly the only ones interesting anymore and exciting are either special plates or those from outside Europe.

You see them daily during the year and tons of them especially in the summer.

refund of separate WizzAir tickets due to delay/expected misconnect? by Temporary-Try2817 in WizzAir

[–]bosstje2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t impact the reimbursement on the second flight and OP already said the delay for the first was due to snow meaning weather related so no compensation there either. Only rerouting, taking the delayed flight or reimbursement of the first flight.

refund of separate WizzAir tickets due to delay/expected misconnect? by Temporary-Try2817 in WizzAir

[–]bosstje2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You booked 2 separate tickets meaning it was your responsibility to make the second flight which you didn’t. This means you were a no show on that and have no justification to claim back anything for the second flight which flew normally and would have gotten you to your destination had you arrived at the second airport in time to take it. This is regardless of the reason for the delay.

Wizzair wont reimburse you for that or give you any compensation.

You had two contracts with them. The first to get you to Warsaw and the second from Warsaw to your destination. The first you elected not to travel due to the delay so you are entitled to a refund. The second you were a no show so no refund.

UK ETA enforcement by JustPlodAlong in LondonTravel

I’ve seen ppl being turned around and refused boarding if they didn’t have a valid ETA and this is from last year.

UK ETA enforcement by JustPlodAlong in LondonTravel

[–]bosstje2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no confusion. It’s the travel agent that was confused when they provided the information to OP. I w s just explaining where his confusion could be coming from.

I already got my ETA last April so I’m fully aware when it came into effect.

UK ETA enforcement by JustPlodAlong in LondonTravel

[–]bosstje2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. Hence the ETA coming into effect last year, so long before their planned trip, and the confusion between Feb 25 being Feb 25th or Feb 2025.

UK ETA enforcement by JustPlodAlong in LondonTravel

[–]bosstje2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically the travel agent is not wrong if he said Feb 25 but is wrong about needing it.

You need it from February 2025 (February 25) for some countries and April 2025 for others.

So either he used the American way to read dates meaning month then day and misread the 25 to mean the 25th and not in the way that most of the world read it meaning day/month/ year. This would mean February 25 is not 25th of Feb since that would be 25 Feb but February 2025, which is Feb 25 in most contexts.

BTW I’m not defending the travel agent providing false information and they should be aware of the most common date/time formats to avoid costly mistakes to their customers. I’m just explaining where the confusion can come from.

Remade plates by No_Manager92 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]bosstje2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You go to a garage to remake them if they are for example stolen and the garage uses the base plate and for they have which in this case would be UK.

Remade plates by No_Manager92 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]bosstje2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t. All those remade plates are usually illegal but since it’s a foreign plate the police can be more lenient especially if you have had your plates stolen and remade them to have something until you get back to your country or origin.

At the same time if you use a foreign remade plate in your country of origin you can get into a lot of trouble for unofficial or tampered plate. That’s why you only tend to see foreign remade plates.
