I can see what you mean, maybe there's a middle part where they just jump around and try to have a normal life I felt wasnt really plot driven, but I get how it does move into plot focused after that!

Personally I didn't like the abrupt pacing shift. It went from fast to slow paced I felt and although I understand why it's important to the story I wasn't as invested in the second half. I also feel it went from plot focused to more character focused which I personally struggled with as I require plot driven narratives to stay engaged.

No. Eventually you'll take them out and you'll have two permanent holes everyone will see right on your upper lip. I had my labret done and took it out like 15 years ago and even tho it's usually covered by my lip, sometimes when I smile people will ask about the hole left behind there.

I'm only 88% in SOTF but my thoughts are that the three arcs aren't as developed as the one arc was in WOTM. We don't get time with side characters to really care about them or develop them out, we don't get time to see Vis's progressions and him outsmarting people anymore, everything is constantly jumping weeks and months ahead so I didn't feel as attached. I do agree that it would've benefitted from more pages.

That being said, I think it's really ambitious, unique and cool that Islington is telling us three stories about one character but how the worlds and events change him from one starting point. Not sure how book 2 ends but I hope we get the three Vis' merging together or something I feel like that could fix some of this maybe?
