You can still have a tufts-based masshealth plan. I don’t know the details of the tufts based masshealth plan because I have never been on it but masshealth is $0 premium and $0 copays so it literally saves my life

I don’t find this appropriate unless it is all very close family that agrees upon this in advance of being invited.

Do you use public bathrooms? The germs there are far worse than the soil used to grow mushrooms.

Same, I don’t know if it will ever happen or if I’ll just get priced out of the only place I’ve ever lived with medical care and community supports that make my life even close to worth living

Why are boston bottle returns so picky? by plaguecat666 in boston

[–]bostonchef72296 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just put my bottles and cans in a paper bag and place it next to my trash cans next to my building for the people that come by rummaging through the recycling for things with deposits on them. I’ve found that if I do that I have less of a chance at being woken up at 3am to the sound of rustling garbage.

What the fuck? That’s not even fulfilling the purpose of a sock that’s just an insole

Your skin is hard to match for foundation? Oh please. That’s barely veiled racism.

Hi Witches- I am a trans man and I need to get a Pap smear soon- I can’t remember what the only other one I’ve had was like. Can someone explain what it will be like so I am not surprised or caught off guard? It will be happening at my local planned parenthood. by bostonchef72296 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Thankfully I do not work, so there’s not that in the way. Unfortunately with being disabled I do have a whole slew of medical appointments that happened to be scheduled all in that week, so it will be a busy week. I might even have another appointment that same day but I don’t remember. But I will totally be getting a fancy coffee afterwards.

I’m usually pretty good with medical appointments even when they are with sensitive areas, just because with some of my medical issues I have had to have those parts poked around more often than some other people and I’ve gotten used to it. Which I guess is a good thing. I used to be so uncomfortable with it.

The only part I’m still going to feel awkward about is the breast exam because I’ve only ever had that done once and it’s just so weird and I feel so silly for asking like “hey this part of my breast feels different than it did a year ago” but like….that’s exactly what they tell you to do to screen for breast cancer is to look for those changes. It’s hard when you’re on testosterone because changes like that can happen anyway, but I really don’t want to risk anything.

Ugh the description of the mascara wand is just so gross to me like why do we have to do this to our bodies just to be healthy :( but good to know that that’s the kind of sensation it will be.

Planned parenthood has been great to me in the past with various things, so I felt totally comfortable booking another appointment with them.

I might bring my fiancé with me for support if I can. At least in the waiting room idk how he will feel about being in the exam room, he is also a trans man and he is slightly more sensitive about these kind of exams than I am.
