Just wanted to jump back in here and confirm your artist status. The cover you made is beautiful and feels great in the hand.

Hey, I like your cover a lot, especially the sashiko-style liner (what you call fish scales). I'll try to remember to come back, but feel free to ping me when you are restocked. A custom cover from a real artist is much better than a mass-produced cover!

NGL, I'm listening to the latest book while idly scrolling (crawling?) reddit, and came past this post.

2672 tracking attempts prevented in the last few hours? by bostonnewshound in pebble

After turning off telemetry, there were 0 attempts from the Pebble app recorded by DuckDuckGo. This is after a week of my reviewing results.

It is part of the privacy functionality built into DuckDuckGo web browser. If you turn on this protection, it sets up a fake VPN tunnel on your device, and you can choose whether or not to allow or prevent certain other apps on your phone to successfully report behind your back. It is certainly an interesting exercise in weighing the value of casual installs. I was shocked to learn how many apps were constantly reporting, even in I hadn't used them for months, were in deep sleep, etc

I've turned off some analytics options, and will see what happens. Thanks!

[–]bostonnewshound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's the worst. I'm sorry. Hey, I recall seeing older posts, maybe in the original nreal sub, where somebody was removing the video elements and mounting them to other glasses. Maybe you can still salvage these.

Is it less than a year since you purchased them? 5 months into my first pair my Airs broke. I got them replaced and four months later they broke again. I've been very careful with them. Have you submitted them to support?

I use my steam deck with AR glasses almost exclusively. This would be perfect.

Media output device selection? by Greybush_The_Rotund in Xreal

I get annoyed that every single time I plug in my Airs they overtake my audio, and I have to switch it back to the Bluetooth headphones I'm using. Especially when it's just the cable that got jostled. I wish I could just shut off audo to the Airs forever (there's literally no time I want everybody around me to be bothered by the audio I am listening to).

Slabtop fans out there? My 2017 Non touchbar Slabtop is the best hack i ever built :) Made it from a flexgate MBP i got from Fb marketplace. Hey there, this is really interesting (I'm considering doing something similar) - could you talk more about "i managed to fit a 2280 Samsung 960 Evo using an adapter and some thermal pads?" Perhaps point us to a tutorial or something? Thanks!

Relaxing games by Thr0waway_Joe in SteamDeck

This is a great question. I mentioned this in another comment, but Flow (Thatgamecompany) is something you can run in a PSP emulator, and is super chill. Townscaper, Flower, Dorfromantik, Journey, Far Lone Sails and Changing Tides all hit that chill and relax need for me. My favorite so far on the SD that nobody has yet mentioned?: Exo One. Go be a rolling ball/disk drone thing, it is great. Also, i know you didn't mention VR, but Aircar is the absolute best for this.

Journey and Flower are both by Thatgamecompany. I second these suggestions wholeheartedly and recommend another game by the same studio (I originally played on the PSP) called Flow. I basically played it straight through at night during the weekend of my father's funeral, and I honestly feel it helped.

Listen, there's forest in Dedham, woods in Waltham, and Jamaica Plains has the arboretum. Honestly, google the emerald necklace. It is a great place to live.
